They are nice (well executed) prints. The problem I have is with viewing them as fine art (as the price suggests). This image was created off of a toy, and used as box art for the toy - therefore, for me, it doesn't constitute art. I believe this is the first time KAWS has based his art off of a toy - all of his other toys are based off his art. For some reason, it diminishes the artistic merit when the art is based off the toy, but the toys based on the art do not diminish the art. I can't pinpoint why I feel this way because I LOVE Lamour Supreme's paintings based off of toys and DO consider those paintings art. |

I was just stating my opinion of his work - and even mentioned a personal contradiction to the way I view things. I was a fan of KAWS first as an artist, so that might have something to do with the way I view his work. I've been pretty disappointed with his artwork for a while - so basing his art on toys isn't helping to improve my opinion. That said - I would probably buy this print if it was $200. The black on black looks kinda cool. I'd also buy the Grey if it was $200. |

Sorry but I think the $700 price tag spells G.R.E.E.D. ! No reason for such an inflated price tag in my book. Is he baseing this price on what after market brings for his toys and art ? If so that is unfortunate. I also agree with this being copied from one of his toys does seem to diminish the desire to own one. |

They are also amazing interpretations of the toys we love to collect. His paintings have a way of bringing these toys to LIFE. They are also one of a kind paintings and an amazing value. I have 2 Lamour's and I can't wait to get another! |

Joel, the painting you did for me is the most prized piece in my collection, even more than the toys that inspired it. And you killed it on that new Madball piece you did. |
