Okay... I've been a member of this forum for a whole 5-minutes, and already I'm less than impressed and very annoyed. Why wouldn't you allow MAKE ME AN OFFER posts???

Sounds like your main goal here is to sell, you already posted a sales thread in Vintage, why don't you post it in sales where it belongs?. Maybe reconsider being a member here? just a thought.

Wow! What a friendly bunch! Ohhh, can ya feel the LOVE!

As for you (Kontact)... still livin in Grandmas basement? Tell her hello for me. Any luck with her finding you a personality yet? ..just a thought.

(Khanate)- Yeah... I guess I should have, but I would have never expected that I couldn't do that. Just seems kinda odd, but I will review the RULES when I have some spare time. Thanks.

Okay, so now that we're all the BESTEST of pals, I just thought I'd check this place since a friend sent me the link. You all know Jim Maitland I trust? Good guy he is. I could have and likely will post my stuff elsewhere too, but figured I give this the first shot. I see it's much appreciated already. Not a problem... I've been doing this longer than most of you have been collecting, so I don't think this is going to make or break me, but Damn!

As for where I posted it... well, I usually find these Forums a bit confusing, and I saw VINTAGE along with FOR SALE, and I figure it was the place to be. Obviously it was not, so when I find some spare time, I will take a closer look and see where everything is.

Now... if you're all done being extra-super-friendly, and care to see what I've got... you're welcome to e-mail me for a LINK. If not...well I guess you miss out.

happy, happy..Joy, joy!

What can I say, we're a cranky bunch. "Make an offer" sales cause a lot of problems here - the sale forum is mainly for selling stuff at decent to very cool prices and the general feel is about hooking people up as opposed to flipping and gouging.

I'm sure there are some veterans here that will pay a serious price for your vintage pieces - just list a price and see what happens. I think when it comes to vintage, people that are interested will know the market value and if you ask for their worth you will get what you want and not offend anybody in the process...

Hey, Bosh is here! Now it's a party. Hi, Erik!

"Make an offer" sales have a bad history here. It's a cultural thing. Ignore the grumps, though, you'll live longer. ;p

Erik, while there is nothing wrong with trying to make a little extra money you really should try and have a bit more finesse about it all.

Sarcasm is appreciated on this board, but it helps to hang around a bit before you start in or it makes you seem as if you're attacking people and we know you're not trying to do that, right?

There are lots and lots of people here and, though I know you don't really keep up with popular (underground) culture, you never know who you might be replying to.

Just about everybody on this board is a collector, we like it like that. So before you sell, hang out a bit and share some knowledge (and not just try and name drop).

It may sound a bit corny but once the board gets to know you, things will be much easier. Promise.

That, the one-upsmanship (I've been doing this longer than you = I'm better and more important than you), name-dropping with no relevance whatsoever, and the not "finding spare time" to know what's up kinda rub the wrong way.

guys,

please try to remember way back when, before you were skullbrain super experts. i remember when nearly everyone here (myself included) didnt know didly or squat about Japanese vinyl or how things rolled on this board. give a guy a chance to figure it out.

Erik, if you want to hang out here, you have to play by the rules. there arent very many of them, mainly that things get posted in the proper sections, and no offer sales. the offer sales ban is to prevent people from privately playing buyers against each other to maximize profit, which has happened plenty. if you stick to those, youll be fine.

thanks

FWIW, i remember this same guy use to post on another board/list (it might have been Mark Nagata's - i can't remember), and basically wound up driving away Coop who'd been a valued contributor up until that point. I don't remember all the details but what sticks in mind is that he attacked Coop for collecting reissue vinyl rather than vintage stuff and it got real ugly much to everyone's chagrin.

Um, does that including Pol Pot, John Wayne Gacey, and Hitler?

It might be better to say: "Most people deserve a second chance."
