Don't you mean "Battel"? ![]() I love all the tiny details in the painting; keeps you staring at it. Was this actually painted on wood? |

I admire good Photoshop and graphics skills but have to say that I love that this was actually painted. Extra-cool factor there. |

I have a general question to painters....it seems like artists that paint have been going more and more to painting on wood. What is it about wood that's making it more and more prevalent? I'm not a painter so I really don't know but I'm sure painting on wood versus canvas is a bit of a different beast. Is it that wood absorbs paint better? Can be cheaper than buying canvases? Just wondering. BTW, where's the original going to be kept? At home or at S7? |

i think it just comes down to each person's preference. i like wood, especially beat-up wood because the surface already has some cool character/texture built into it. on the other hand, sometimes i like working on nice, clean, smooth illustration board. i dont like canvas because i dont like the texture, and i prefer painting on something solid, that wont flex when i put pressure on it. plus from a more hippy drippy perspective, wood just feels more natural or something. gatchabert wrote: I have a general question to painters....it seems like artists that paint have been going more and more to painting on wood.
