I work for a jackass who was promoted to management because he misrepresented his education (lied that he had a masters) to upper management. He's never managed people before. He is scatterbrained and unfocused. He plays favorites and protects his favorite who is a complete imbecile. He talks trash about everyone behind their back. He spends half the day socializing and chatting with others. He doesn't know his ass from his elbow regarding technology though he holds an IT title. He constantly takes two hour lunches and is protected by his boss. He is indecisive, has a big weak ego, and loves red tape, has no concept on motivating people or holding people accountable (probably because he imitates his boss's management style). He's homophobic and yet obsessed with gays and lesbians He's a liar and attempts to bully people, especially women. I could go on and on but you get the picture... |

Ha. The CEO of our company is a pompous fucking idiot and a bully. One time he came into the kitchen (I'm a chef) and blew his fuckin' lid at me, swearing, screaming, the whole nine yards for something another person miscommunicated with him. Then he storms out ot his office, when he turned around to sit at his desk he see's me closing his door, basically I asked him if he'd like to speak to me like that in the parking lot. Long story short, he apologized before I finished my sentence and hasn't spoken to me that way since. Oh yeah, also one of the products I created pulls about $12-15 million a year. Here's my contribution: My boss "joked" about replacing me with another "hot chick" yesterday. Our team consists of ultra-vixen diva girl and the hottest (and also sweetest) girl in the company, my boss and me. It's great that he has a framed photo of him with both of them on the desk - minus me - wjhich is a real motivator for me. He is also ultra homophobic (he must have mentioned the fact that two girls in our building are...shock...gay, but that they are "OK" about a 100 times to me) and hates fat people or poeple who "whine", and don't even whisper about gay men, he shudders. Basically, all work sucks - unless u work for S7 - and that probably sucks sometimes too. |

I'm paranoid my boss is going to find this post, though he's much too stupid I probably shouldn't worry I don't even want to put alot of thought into why he is such a pile, I get so angry just thinking about the bs I have to put up with, alot of it is similar to Liquid's, but right now I'm dealing with this, I am salaried and pretty much work my 40 on the nose, I took a half day 2 fridays ago and I was docked 4 hrs. Correct me if I'm wrong, Labor Laws say even if you show up to the job and work 15 min you get paid the whole day of 8 hrs, right? So I tell payroll I should get the 4 and then I tell my asseater, I mean boss, about how I was shorted and he says to go tell payroll. Then the following monday he asked why I thought I should be paid the full 8 and I was forced into saying IT'S THE FUCKING LAW. So, to make a long story short, he argued and said fine, but you're back on the clock. Um, yea, is there a lawyer in the heezy, oh and this guy's not a homophobe, he actually likes pinching my ass. Wow, too much said! |

The predetermined amount cannot be reduced because of variations in the quality or quantity of the employee’s work. Subject to exceptions listed below, an exempt employee must receive the full salary for any week in which the employee performs any work, regardless of the number of days or hours worked. Exempt employees do not need to be paid for any workweek in which they perform no work. If the employer makes deductions from an employee’s predetermined salary, i.e., because of the operating requirements of the business, that employee is not paid on a “salary basis.” If the employee is ready, willing and able to work, deductions may not be made for time when work is not available. |

if you can prove to the DOL that your status was changed from exempt to non-exempt as a form of retaliation or punishment for taking time off, then your boss may get fried. |
