uughh.. I'm sleepy and I have to get up early tomorrow.. so without much commentary at this time - other than to say this Pachi kaiju was a riot - heres a link to the first batch of photos.. there were some amazingly cool giveaways and I did well on the free lucky draws but not so good on the buying. More details about what was there and what I was able to acquire but for now have a look thru the pics... http://www.flickr.com/photos/datadub/sets/72057594107719369/ |

That chaos is nuts. The furry blobpus is such a good idea; it is nice to see a pus au natural for a change. |

I see a couple of gaijin faces in there. This looks like fun, I'd like to go to one. How often are they held? |

Cool stuff! Thanks for the pics as always! I'm a little confused on those Blobpus' (which is actually kind of a good thing). Are the feathers or whatever attatched to the Blob? Kind of a striptease blob w/ a feather boa! |

The Chaos and the orange blobpus are intense. Just vinyl for me, no fur or feathers. |

A lovely Chaos, even if it looks very close to the Jarinko glow version. |

What goes on at these events? What is the purpose besides love of weird monsters? |

Paulkaiju wrote: What goes on at these events? What is the purpose besides love of weird monsters? I'm wondering the same thing. It looks like they are having a genuine discussion about the direction of kaiju and kaiju-related products for the coming year. I half expect to see some dude get fired for suggesting that they replace tentacles w/ claws in the second half of 2006. Do they have coffee and donuts at these things? |

Lets just say Datadub and I were well liquored up when we left. The main thing is that the panel of "Kaiju Experts" go though old kids books and manga and tell jokes and talk about how terrible the kaiju look. Datadub speaks great Japanese so he could translate better than I. ![]() |

Awesome stuff! That Chaos is super cool. Is it a milky translucent or are my eyes playing tricks on me? |
