How does it work - is it the whole fig or is it the skul parts that you put on a henshin cyborg body. |

Just the skull parts you then put on a 12" Henshin body. So you get pair of boots, pair of gloves, a small inner head, a large outer head and the chest armour. You will need your own Henshin body. This needs to be a re-issue of the original 70's body or an original body. Neo Henshin bodies WON"T work!!! |

Take it the originals are hard to come across. Whats with the Neo Henshin bodies, do many items like this not work with neo's either? Wonder how much this would cost? hmmm |

The previous Skulltoys suit (Pink version) was $90 at S7. Re-issue bodies are $44 at Toy Tokyo. Only place I know selling them still. MIB original bodies can be over $500!!! Neo Henshin bodies are sculpted differently. They have different joints on the legs that prevent the boots from going on as I understand it. I think Frank ground down these joints to fit a suit on a Neo Henshin though... Any of these type of suits are made for the older body style - all SB suits, Skulltoys suits etc. |

Do people just buy a couple of bodies then rotate the suits? |

I got 4 bodies and this suit will be my fourth so I got enough to go round, but yeah, after this will rotate the suits or try to pick up another body. I really want a Waldar body though. Same as Henshin, but tinted either yellow, green or purple (like in the suit pic above) and have organic innards instead of the clear body with robotic innards of Henshin Cyborg. King Waldar is Henshin Cyborg's evil nemesis. |

Is the stand necessary on the back, or do they stand on their own? |

I have no stands, but some people on here do. They stand on their own and are very poseable, but they can be a bit touchy. The suit helps with standing I find as it gives the figure bigger feet to stand with. |

Parka wrote: Is the stand necessary on the back, or do they stand on their own? I use regular doll stands, unless I want a nasty fall fall and hairline cracks. Great for displaying new suits, but the quality of the remakes is pretty piss poor. |

Are they bad quality in general or do they break easy? $44 - $500 means if I pick one up it'll be the cheapo one oh go on - add me to the list may aswell give it a shot. I like the SB suits (toxic ones are cool) so we'll see where it ends up. |

Paul, I have never seen an original body to compare the re-issues to, but always thought the newer bodies were pretty well made. The heads are tough to get off though!! Parka, You'll love the suit thing!! SB suits are the bomb though. |

Parka wrote: Are they bad quality in general or do they break easy? (toxic ones are cool) so we'll see where it ends up. Well, last week I picked up the Skullking Walder. It's packaged with clear plastic between the suit and the plastic body. When i removed the plastic from in between I noticed it sort of had a reaction with the body plastic and left "ripples". Also ,the Walder head had a reaction with the plastic neck and sort of melted it. I think the fact Takara decided to make them in China really put a strain on the qualty. The neck is rediculously loose and i am noticing hairline cracks in the joints. But that's this particular figure. Just a plain one would be worth it just to display any of the new suits. (Try and find the red Walder if you can! Who knows what future suits might look great on that one!) moriachi- I think the old ones will wayyy outlast these new ones. Mine have spider hair cracks all over them and are still nice and stiff. The heads do take some tender care to remove on the older ones! |

Ha, it's amazing but the original bodies from the early 70's for the most part stand way better than the new re-issues, that is if they don't have a lot of play wear.....but the inference is clear, the originals were way better made. The transparency of the old ones are much better too. That being said, the re-issue is probably the way to go if you just want to display the suits. Do opt for a stand though. the re-issues have loose-ish joints and won't stand too well for long periods. Right now I have about 20 re-issue bodies, 5 original cyborgs, 4 orginal Waldars (purple, 2 greens and a yellow....no blue, sadly), 6 original Alien Invaders and 4 Android-A's. I do need more bodies for all the suits, as I'd like to display and photgraph them all at the same time...en masse...I think it would look RAD! That new Skull Toys suit is great looking! |
