Well, since it is here now, I suppose we can use it to share WF releases, but yes, seems like this posting should have been made in the 'Wanted' subforum.
Well considering this thread has been opened I must admit that from what I've seen so far there's quite a lot of exciting stuff for this WF. Could be one of the best in the last years? Hopefully Andy will cover it on Kaijukorner, really looking forward to it.
The version of Kerberosman that is popping up there makes me wish my Tokyo pals had the same affinity for toys that I do No one I know is going there hah, I'll have to see if one gets dumped on y!J
I don't think Andy will be able to offer much coverage at WF, for those holding out for the normally excellent KK report, as he wasn't attending this year I believe, due to other commitments. I will say here though, how I think it is pretty shitty in this hobby when he we are, actual hours after the festival has concluded, and I can count no less than twelve exclusive releases (and probably actually much more that aren't specified) on Mandarake in the soft vinyl category alone. I mean, I don't blame the store for buying them, as someone is going to want these, but come on, how do you leave the event with a bag full of toys and walk right into the re-sale shop? It sucks from an ever-heightening cost perspective, of course, but more than that just because there are a ton of us who have been so very thrilled to have someone mule those toys for us, with an extra bit on top even if necessary.
These are not the Sam Defuckwitts of the world. Most look like guys that NEED the ¥¥¥, either directly or via a third-party 'boss'. Maybe I'm going soft in my old age, but see 'em manically shuffling from booth to booth clutching their lists is kinda sad.
Considering this thread has been opened, the best we can do is try to share some photos of the WF2016 releases. Longneck "submarine Majin (tropical)" in "WF2016 summer" in the July 24 Lottery launched than 13 hour 30 minutes at Medicom Toibusu of "WF2016 summer" in the July 24, 2016 submarine Majin (tropical) distribution price 54,000 yen (tax included) ● total length about 300mm
No, you are absolutely right Andy, which is why I was kind of saying this just makes me sad more than angry. Because, as you said, it isn't really flipping as such, or, it if is, it is for such a menial amount for most items I think. I think on any thing that is really up-priced, Mandarake is taking vastly the larger part of the cut. I wonder more about the motivation to do this, but anyways.
Links to the sites, IG addys, etc with WF coverage would be appreciated - I hate it when Andy goes to SDCC!
I've been using various kanji in google searches an on IG all morning....no definitive blog with pics to be found yet Maybe my skills have diminshed.
So remember a long time ago I posted a blog entry and how cool it would be to get a newer Giant Red Baron Robot? Because those vintage giants are beyond pricey? Here's the blog I found then: http://ameblo.jp/fj8340/entry-11902593273.html I was wondering if these ever got made. Well apparently they did! Windair Workshop makes them and they are sold at the Maize table at WF. There was a new version at the summer WF2016: Older version with new WF2016 version: Not sure how big these are in that blog it says 48cm, on Facebook where i lifted these pics (no I'm not on it) I think it said 30cm. Or I saw that elsewhere.
Hanumaan (celebration) Price ¥ 30,000 False Messiah (awakening Hen) Price ¥ 25,000 Beastman Minotaur (Golden Idol) Price ¥ 30,000
Wow, that is great news! I, too, have really longed for that fellow. To be honest, I am not as taken with the new colour scheme on this year's version. He is still incredible wonderful, and the additional accents are great, I just think only in seeing him next to the earlier version, I see just how fantastic that one was. I love the classic look. But really, both are stupendous toys. Arrgh, this looks like it was yet another fantastic WF, filled with all kinds of wonderful surprises and indie toys you might never see again, or not easily anyway. As to the size, I am not certain, but it does look like from those table shots of the old one, and using some relative rough gauging (as good as you are able to do) that he is in fact a whopping 48cm tall!!
