I would almost say it is inevitable. Oh wait...

Anyone know how much the bigger resin guy retails for?

I think from what I read the big guy retailed for 14800円 at WF, Lixx.

Yeah I bought it in case you're wondering- but who knows I still might get a cancellation email for sold out knowing how Mandarake does its live stock updates! I weighed my odds on finding one ever- they seem super limited, not having to leave a deposit and get in a bid war on YJA (JoeMan said he saw one go over 400), only seeing two show up on Mandarake last time (don't know how long they lasted), and finally me never buying anything and saying fuck it! Plus come on- blue an pink faces, Giant Mummy (almost 14 inches tall), Shigeru Mizuki?

Here's the new version side by side with the old green/orange in a little collage I made:

Wow- that is so great you were able to locate one that fast and I think you did the right thing getting it while you had a chance.......

The pink and blue faces are much cooler than the original run imho, looks like aquarium paints and will be neat to see it under a black light.

I hope they ship it right out to you!

Trust me I added and removed it from my cart at three separate times today. That's a big chunk of change- but I just got paid (finally) so.....I don't know- fingers crossed! I can't find much info on it at all (besides it's almost 14 inches, made by Shelter Bank, from GeGeGe Kitaro, one day Wonderfestival license, and super limited) or find it for sale anywhere so the odds were not good and I finally just said fuck it. If anything I have a really giant fun toy to play with and photograph. So is urethane (the material it's made out of) much different from normal 'vinyl' (pvc)? Is it softer, more pliable? Like a cheap vintage poly toy?

I hear you man, one has to get some enjoyment as we get older and the value will be the enjoyment you get not the price you paid. I admire that you took a chance and bought it because you simply enjoy the sculpt and it is so obscure, no hype or other BS involved. Depending on the type of urethane(there are 100's of formulas) it may be very dense or very thin, I am willing to bet it is on the thick side and very well made.

Although this would be the best blow molded doll out there next to the Mexican Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Thanks @kichigai! The toy looked like too much fun to pass up and ultimately thats what swayed me. Yeah it's so bizarre I just encountered it on Instagram -something I'm not even on, while searching for some Shikaruna just a few days ago. It's not even something I'd normally go for but I do like Giant toys. I kept looking and looking online and got not much info, hence why I posted here. I guess I got lucky that the Summer WF2016 just happened right as I discovered it.

If I do get it I'll take a ton of pics! If not the hunt is on...

See, for me it is the opposite, but that is what makes it so great, love to have varied tastes. I would be absolutely thrilled to adopt either one of these, and while I really like the sharply contrasting colours of the W|F2016 version, I think for me the more 'zombie' toned blue-green along with the 'fleshier' pink, make it more suited for my own preferences. I also prefer the slightly darker brown highlights added to the mummy wraps on the older version.

Many, many honest congratulations Lixx. I think you did the right thing snagging him while you could. In this hobby, there are too many regrets about woulda, shoudas that always seem to haunt us. This isn't one you will regret. I am envious of the opportunity, but so happy for you, and this is just the kind of toy that is going to look so well on your shelves.

Personally, I'd prefer the geenish-orangish one, as well. But, hey, different strokes... Congrats on the awesome score @Lixx!

Today I really hesitated to buy it and then reason prevailed (plus I really spent a lot these last days, especially for this wonder fest) then congratulations and happy it goes to you ! I hope you will have it and that you will do a lot of pictures.

That is the downside with those one-day only festival licenses . . . . waaaay harder to find on the secondary market
    at a reasonable price!

I love the blue and pink version, but they are all pretty cool.

Nice grab, super jealous. If you get it in hand and don't like it, I'm sure there are plenty here who would take it off your hands.

I think Polyeurethane is just a fancy word for resin. I have some the plush Shelterbank figures that have resin hands and feet and I imagine the feeling you will have with this guy is very similar to those parts. Those are solid and surprisingly light weight for resin, not soft at all, but awesome quality castings. But there are many different Polyeurethane resins out there, so this could definitely be different. Please do let us know what it feels like in hand.

Been a banner week here for toys (SK T28 GID):
    http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/shikaruna-koubo-database-updated-2-18-12.24151/page-40

But this toy is such a gem and worth every penny. I saw the YJA one go for around 25000 yen but it was a no brainer to not gamble on that and have to leave the difference I paid in a $50 deposit and go through bid war stress:

So here's the deal with the polyuretane. The hands, feet, and face (basically everything blue and pink) are pretty rock solid and feels like it could be soft vinyl like we normally find in most of our toys. The mummy 'wraps' on the other hand are very very soft and squishy. Almost like rubber duckies. It's actually a pretty cool feeling when handling the toy texture wise. As far as the brownish aging highlight on the wraps, initial photos didn't really do them justice. While not as pronounced as the first version still very visible and more subtle in this version.

I suddenly can't wait for halloween lol.

Sounds just like the Shelterbank Land, where the face is soft and squishy.
Shelterbank/Master Ceramic rule! Congrats, that's a score and a half.

Well hopefully Shelterbank will perhaps make larger quantities for upcoming events/festivals based on popularity? I have no idea how many were made but I'm guessing not many. This toy really lends itself to multiple version possbilities. Still can't get around that overseas licensing thing but maybe greater quantities will give more folks an opportunity to snatch one up? I'm hoping yes for everyone, he's really cool in hand.

Woah amazing figure, you really did well to buy it in spite of the price (which is reasonable given the size, quality and release quantity), it worth it.
If I had not bought so much lately I would have take it. Congratulation !
