Bringing back this old thread. Here’s my progress on the Toho Monster collection I started last year. I still have a long way to go, but I’m happy with the progress so far. Sorry for the bad lighting. It was a dreary day.
Its genuinely heart warming to see people still collecting the classics. What an excellent group. Nice work.
@michael A curiosity cabinet of awesomeness. So many toys I would love, I especially admire that clear kewpie.
Made a small adjustment to my shelves after seeing some recent posts in the Bemon thread. This isn’t my entire collection, but close to it - my Secreters live on another shelf, and I have a handful of things in a box I should probably try to sell. Dammit - how do you post a pic to SB these days? Hosted this on Flickr since Photobucket is the suck now.
@---NT--- your collection makes me want to dedicate a shelf to Starcase too! Wonderful and wonderfully goofy assortment.
@moodydoom Here is is some additional info and photos about the original release: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10103349 @---NT--- Great to see those on display like that.
Thanks! Star Case is the last maker that really caught my eye. I had been aware of the bootleg model kits that the first few figures were based on, and when I saw them remade in sofubi form I had to get 'em - they are absolutely goofy! And the packaging is great too - hence why some of them are still boxed/bagged. Thanks! I still haven't been able to pin down which is my favorite color - they're all just so eye-popping, and work so well with the sculpt.
Found my old collection, haven't been able to have it on display for various reasons. Was nice to go down memory lane and look at the start of this thread. Always loved seeing VGA collection, he had some absolutely amazing pieces
from out of nowhere...BOOM! hope you are well. seeing your name pop up here jogged some fun memories from days of old.
Recently re-arranged my shelves and am pretty happy with them. There's some random stuff around the house and a few in a box waiting for me to put them up for sale, but this is most of the stuff I still like now. Didn't wanna clog the thread but there's a bunch more pics at my site if you want detail shots or whatever.
Spent the last couple of days moving all my toys into my spare/WFH room. Unsurprisingly I’ve got a couple of boxes of toys left over but here’s how it’s looking at the moment.
It's looking damn fine! Plenty of toy eye-candy thoughtfully displayed ... I didn't realise how big the large kumon is ...
