Thanks, I'll need it! The nice thing about not being super heavily into any particular artist yet is that I can decide I don't need to put in the work, and leave it alone

Over the moon to finally have my first Ilu Ilu pieces. Everything from unboxing to photographing these has been a joy.

@zindabad - Taimur, congrats on all those grabs! Pepy is one of my favorites from Iru Iru.

I love that he's fully equipped to give really big hugs. There's just so much attention to detail that I didn't appreciate from photos. The links on Pepy's chain are ridged, which makes them look much finer, like jewelry, and one end of Vinydum's maggot accessory is unpainted to prevent paint rub. I have so much respect for the work that went into designing these, from packaging to finishing.

Got out for some photos early in the morning! I'll be posting most of these to my IG to avoid clogging up the thread, but here are some of my favourites:

    "Pepy to the rescue!"

Man, I am loving these high quality photos of toys in nature, with perfect lighting. I am so scared of my toys getting scratched or dirty that I almost never take them out of their bag, unless I buy them loose. Keep the awesomeness coming!

Thank you so much; this means a lot! I'm happy to post more if you like but don't want to dump all over this thread. That said it's nice having high-quality photos up online after seeing how IG compresses the hell out of even my decent pics.

I'm terrified of paint damage too; setting up that photo of Pepy hanging from a twig was kind of a white-knuckle affair since I kept thinking it would fall hard to the ground. But thankfully the chain-links are small enough that wrapping them tightly a few times provides enough resistance to support his weight. It's thanks to the designers at Ilu Ilu that he can even pull that off.

Thank you! I used to be hooked on highly-articulated action figures because I loved all the posing options, but taking photos of my sofubi has made me realise less really can be more. It's really satisfying to see what you can do with a masterful expressive sculpt, a few limited posing options, and the landscape.

Crazy how a new colourway lends such a different affect to this sculpt. I'm absolutely hooked on Villat.

Does anyone know if there is any relation between Iluilu and Next Level Toys? They keep popping up in my feeds tagged with iluilu. Or are they just piggybacking off their similarity to the dynamic fight sets?

I don't know for sure, but this: https://softoyhobby.com/tag/next-level-toys/ refers to them being sculpted by NLT and not anyone else.

Almost definitely piggybacking. They've also used the Uzumark tag before, possibly Utsugiyo as well though I can't remember. It's frustrating but makes sense given that their Fight of the Century toys closely resemble Utsugiyo's Imperial Pro Wrestling set. But imo they don't pack the same detail and charm, and make up for it by using celebrity likenesses.

Huge fan of the techno loaders line(half the reason I joined was to have a place to discuss them) and have been messing around with them for a few months now since tracking some down. Absolutely love this stuff! IMG_20171221_170306_304.jpg IMG_20171211_172919_004.jpg IMG_20180529_103357_585.jpg

Planet base is beautiful! Still on the hunt for one, but after seeing your photos I know it'll be worth it ;) love the zoomed perspective on the mini, and I don't think I've ever seen someone open up the drill part on it. I always have the most fun messing around with mine as well. Mystifies me that some guys have giant boxed collections of these.

What's up with that weird looking capsule thing? Does that attach to the base?

Same, they are some of the most fun toys I own and it makes me wish that other sofubi makers got as inventive as these. Everything from the packaging design to the little hidden features and details in the toys themselves demands to be opened and discovered.

I love your pics as well, you're making me consider buying other iluilu pieces that I originally had no interest in... So thanks for making me even more poor!

That's a brain in a jar and yes, it sits inside the building part of the base and slides out. There's some good pics of it back on page 23 in my most wanted colorway.

Those shots are great @RezE11even!! I've been sort of dreaming of the days he releases more of the earlier figures, Neo Gorilla and Gorz etc, but those shots have really opened my eyes to the beauty of the Techno Loaders line! Thanks for posting them
The brain in the jar just blew my fucking mind!

That planet base is somehin else. Really small but a hell of a lot of detail! Prices for his toys have been crazy and discouraging :/ lucky to those that have some in their collection!
