Ok, I've just scored a green unpainted one and to my surprise it's squishy (besides bigger than what I could imagine); does anyone know if these are all squishy or just the green unpainted release? The green comes with a snake, goes without saying that the train looks way cooler.
the unpainted green,,,silver & gold plus the silver/gold mix superfest version are all on softer vinyl....
how comes longneck figures are so soft, almost squishy? is it intentional? thats what turned me off from dempagons already.
I'm not sure about previous LN releases, as far as the ooze-it tribute goes I guess it refers to the fact that the original was also squishy (in order to ooze out the slime from the eyes, mouth and ears); same for the Secret Base micro.
to my knowledge,,the two painted green train versions,,vader version & both wf versions are all on regular vinyl... hence the higher retail price than the squishy versions....
Oh, interesting. I had no idea that regular vinyl could lead to a higher retail than squishy. I was in Tokyo last week and went to CKA, saw some in the window but had no idea that the one I picked up a while ago was actually squishy (which for me is a major plus, as you say it further extends the homage).
Agh, that window display is killing me. Some day CKA, some day.... Very interesting to know about the vinyl types, squishy is definitely the way to go for me, I love soft toys, but I can see how it would not necessarily be everyone's thing. Still love the first green the best though.
Nice!! I bet the deathra behind him must be really annoyed at the guy blocking the light, hahaha. Great shelf, sir!
Yeah, I can't wait to find some time to reorganize my collection, for the time being it's a big mess, without raisers et al... In the chaos Long Neck stands tall
Well, I would be more than willing to lend space on my shelves to pretty much every single piece there. I think it looks great, sometimes half the fun of looking at shelves is getting in there and finding the gems. This one is the Squishy one, right? not rigid vinyl.
^ Rob please, could you tell me what is that unpainted orange mermaid toy at top right in your picture?
Not sure we're talking about the same toy but it could be an AM5 mini? Anyway I'll take this to PM in order to avoid taking away from Long Neck
No, I am guessing the mermaid in the CKA display. Not sure that it is, but it definitely has that vintage feel, and most toy stores in Japan have both old and modern stuff. Great eye Ann, looks like a cool toy. Could be just a bootleg, like those fish Yamomark used for their recent inspiration. Love the orange (of course).
Thanks, man! I like mermaid toys and I was curious about the one in Rob's picture... The orange color is perfect for a mermaid! By the way, what I like most in your vintage orange toy is the baby looking lovingly at her mom. Adorable!
Check out the Yamomark ones, you'll probably love them. I think they are fantastic. Sorry, I can't find a better pic right now, but here is one from Andy's SF 54 coverage:
