Oh Nice! And it has all 3 of the Yog monsters, Kameba too... Okay, I see him in your original pic now; down left doing the hokey-pokey with Zambolar and Gubira.

    Thanks, bud.

Oh cool, @The Moog . I remember seeing 3d production images on instagram at least 3 years ago, but wasn't sure what the final product was going to be made of. I thought I recalled discussion of the plan being resin with magnetic joints. Maybe that was for the 3d print / prototype... Although I have no problem with and even collect some resin toys, a figure like this benefits more from being sofvi. Glad to hear it is. I'm interested in it again ;)

@The Moog that is certainly one of the weirdest vinyls I have seen in a while

Yeah, I've nothing against resin either. I missed this one twice when they dropped on the website, because of the high international postage cost and customs charges. Both times I was too undecided and they sold out, pretty quick. He was also selling an unpainted version in the blue vinyl.

I was very glad to score him here on the SB sales thread. I was expecting a larger figure, but the 8" height makes him even more of an oddity. He's beutifuly made and quite charming in hand. Much like the comic!

Got to go back and highlight a few things, as i guess it has been too long since I visited this thread.

@Lixx - phenomenal lineup man. No matter what the reason was for the attention, it was so well deserved. A gorgeous mix of both vintage and modern toys there, quite a few of which are so after my own heart. A great photo, but equally excellent toys, such a pleasure to look at. (reminds me how long it has been since I logged into flickr)

@The Moog - love the shelf shots man. Fantastic collection of Bearmodel toys especially. I don't know what kind of processing (if any) you did on the image, but I just love the way it has high contrast but is very flat. You can really make out so much wonderful detail in all of the sculpting that you usually can't see all that much due to paint or sheen. Phenomenal effort to bring out each, and they really look so well together. Could easily be a museum shelf documenting Japanese toys.

@Johnny Black - ah, removable mask heroes, a particular soft spot for me. I wish I had more of them, and even more so that I had more complete with their masks. Vintage is getting harder to compete for these days, and pricier than it was even just a few years ago, so I can appreciate building a collection like that. Very nice to see.

Thanks mate. I would imagine its different for each camera, but the room I display my sofubi in has kinda low lighting but enough to take a photo without too much grain etc. I just lighten them up a lot in Photoshop using levels and sometimes increase the saturation a bit.

Of course, some parts of each image need different processing, so I often use masking to isolate each area. Sounds laborious, but its not.

The result is a softer image than usual but the lower lighting avoids that sheen you mention. Also the shadows add contrast . . . .
