Thank you, @chimply.kaiju! :D It's a ski ball lane! I love that Two Toed Tom on the purple background. Wonderful contrast.

    Great photos! Thanks guys!

Well - it's official, though I'm not allowed to post photos yet: I got the final ok to produce a RAMPAGE version (standard size) of the original 1954 Godzilla. The license window for the ok was super super short, and I have Medicom to thank for mediating the discussion. I will be co-producing the figure with Medicom - my sculpt, my wax, my mold, with figure production, sales and shipping being handled in Japan by Medicom.

Psyched this is working out. I'll share photos once the wax proto is done and approved. The figure should be available for international pre-order this Fall sometime.

That is some cool work from Jon. Really, an original take on Godzilla - which, for a character that has been done in an uncountable number of toys now for 5 decades at least, is really saying something. It's Goji and it is Jon, a nice harmony that give the figure a lot of personality and a different style. I can certainly appreciate it isn't meant for everyone (and Godzilla purists might scoff) but it also isn't meant to be. There are literally hundreds of other 'traditional' versions to satisfy those folks. So yeah, basically I am happy to see some being adventurous and exciting with their sculpting, and certainly not following trends. Jon's sculpting work is really coming through on this one, as well as keying in on a some nice touches to other figure styles. Congratulations Jon, happy to see that the licensing issue worked out (even if it wasn't a surprise entry ), and thanks for making such a fun fella. A great entry into the field.

I like the goji resembles a western hognose snake. we would catch them sometimes as kids. I enjoy Jon's take, the abstract thinking and fun- ness of them

Thanks guys! Yep - when Toho gave the thumbs up to sculpt the figure (late spring of this year), they noted very clearly that further license approval was contingent upon the sculpt's not being a 'realistic' or 'literal' interpretation of the character - and that they were giving the thumbs up because they had seen my previous work (one of the licensing guys collects my stuff!) and felt confident that I'd do something 'different.'

Glad to know that so many people are excited about this figure! I'm excited to see the vinyl figure - with the jointing it will tighten things up significantly (the sample image being the original clay sculpt that is actually held together with sticky tack  ). I'll be at themold maker's on Wednesday to chat about the whole thing - paint masks as well. Psyched!

Nice,Jon. Looking at the preview pic, I sort of thought that this might be the case, but nice to have it confirmed, and I, too, am very excited to see the vinyl version. That's great knowing you have fans within Toho, a very nice tip of the hat to you, good sir. And I also appreciate that not only is Toho open to different interpretations, they actually encourage it on occasion. Good news all around, this will be something I will have my eyes out on the horizon (and, I hope with positive response, might just be the start of a new 'wave' for you :) ).

Looks like you need to go through your local comic or game shop. Diamond Comics seems to be distributing these in the states. There are US sites that are offering pre-orders for my Goji and the newest Marmit Goji. One example (not my site):

@JMRampage - Jon, the test pull looks gorgeous. I have to say you have really hooked me with your take on the classic ShodaiGoji. I have admired many of the various Rampage monsters from afar, but as a very focused Godzilla collector, I rarely venture outside that specific Toho realm. I am excited to be all-in on this sculpt and toy, and already have the Medicom release on preorder. I would be interested in potentially picking up one of these test shots/customs if they are made available, and will be watching your IG feed with interest. Congrats on what looks to be an excellent new toy release.

Veeerrryyyy cool, Jon! Such gorgeous texturing; seeing it up close you get an even better appreciation for the great work you did on this fella. (And, you just know if you can pull a diehard like Mark over to this side, you have done something extra special ). And quite a hefty fellow too - quite literally - in hand. I am very excited for you, and for us all. Excellent progress!
