Two different issues. There are blank spots on the inner arms that come from the toy being sprayed with its arms down (as someone pointed out to me)—I wondered if these were blemishes, and was wrong. It's painted how it is, and as long as there's no dust or crap in there I'm happy with whatever decisions the maker made. The scuffs are separate, on the wrists and thighs, presumably from contact during shipping. I haven't noticed many toys in the run with those, so it's definitely unfortunate. Anyway, we can keep beating the horse but I need to say hats off to @grosspustule for handling all comments maturely with no headassery on his part. Looking at his responses, you'd almost think we're a forum of grown and level-headed adults.
Yeah, again not trying to be mean, when I started collecting paint rubs really bothered me, I would sell toys I liked because they had a tiny paint rub. Now they don’t bother me at all. Now what bothers me more than anything are loose joints, to the point I stopped having factories assemble my figures and literally have to spend several hours even a full day cutting my own joints to guarantee they are tight. I understand the scuffs were caused in the shipping. And could have been avoidable if the figure had bubble wrap around the torso or something. Give it some time and the paint stuff might stop bothering you, because you will reflect on the toys you wish you still had that you gave up because of minor paint rubs. I would happily take back the ilu ilu neo gorilla, Peppy, wrestler set and Nag I all sold because they had paint scratches.
Started crying in my heart for those wrestlers. Shit is solid gold now. Hate loose joints as well but silicone O-rings have saved a few toys where it's been really bad. Mr Ree needs them imo. Different feel to a vinyl joint of course, but at least there's some recourse.
Just got my email about the new mini Gigara! Any other boardies score one? Looks like another instant classic from Lenny.
Good stuff, got mine a few hours ago as well. Absolutely excellent that we have both Godesu and Gigara in standard and mini sizes after just a couple of years. Something about little Gigara just sits really right with me as well, moreso than Godesu (which is a great toy itself). Probably all those smooth surfaces and spikes.
Awesome! Always nice to see other boardies score as well. Yeah I love the mini Godesu but the Gigara may be even better.
I got my notification early yesterday evening. Very excited to add a Gigara mini to its full size, standard counterpart! The Godesu mini is great, and has personality. But I think this Gigara mini is just so damn charming, and larger horns/plates on its back elevate it just above the mini’s predecessor. Can’t wait to see it in hand! Very happy to see fellow ‘Brainers come up.
I was reading this earlier and was disappointed at having lost yet another lottery. Checked my email and actually scored this little one. So good. i really love this size figure.
No special insight, but we've only seen one release of the Godesu with magnet arm. I think at least one more run of that one is likely. Maybe in yellow and green, like the Bullmark Shugaron.
Spectrum Lab once again provides collectors with a rebirth of vintage vibes in collecting with the Mini Gigara. I’ve yet to own any mini Marusan or Bullmark figures, but I’ve seen and held plenty from other collections. You could place Mini Gigara and Godesu on a shelf with multiple vintage minis and you’d potentially have a hard time pointing them out for a bit. This header art is so awesome. Aside from the fact that it’s original from Lenny - San himself, it’s incredible just how *well* he encapsulates pachi header art. Good enough to make you believe he was an original painter for pachi headers in the 70’s! Spoiler
Just got my email about the new Godesu and mini Godesu set! As usual I hope some other SBers had similar luck. Another classic from Spectrum Lab!
Wow, congrats, Bob! Really great to see someone here scoring one, the new Godesu is great as always. I didn't get mail yet, but still wish there could be a silver lining.
Congrats Bob! Just got a winning lotto email also. I love the yellow vinyl and paints on this one, it's definitely going to pop out on the shelf
Congrats! I unfortunately have no more room for the big Godesu so skipped on this one but would have loved that mini yellow.
Yeah the addition of the mini was a real surprise. Congrats to those that also scored and good luck next time to those that didn’t!
