Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Just have to carry this amazing photo over. Wow Rei, those are some delicious glowies! I really like the colours on that Twintail, and even more excellent version of an already great sclupt. And Namegons suspended stalk starers look even more ghostly in that milky vinyl. A delightful duo I am very envious of. Wonderful! Congrats on two great toys.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Thanks amigo I really love the sculpts & colors on these guys~ timeless beauties! It's my 1st Twin Tail as well, so it's extra special.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Hope no one will object to me posting one more. Okay, I admit, I am hard-pressed to choose another character I love more that Zarab, so even amongst the '66 crew, this yellow fellow is a real standout for me. I would, of course, just love a vintage Bullmark standard, but I concede that it is not a realistic expectation for me at this time, and I am Af̶i̶n̶e̶ Ag̶e̶n̶e̶r̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶o̶k̶a̶y̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ A willing to accept that. And I sure don't love this guy any less for it. Everything about ol' Alien Z makes me smile; his big white dome, those tiny pupils, the red beaked mouth, ripply spacesuit, and the fantastic colour combination of yellow and black. In every iteration of the character I find something to love, but the original defies criticism. So happy to have him in my Zarab family.
Bandai was king when it came to Godzilla toys in the 80s for childern. They would rule the Godzilla toy scene for the next couple decades. It all started with these five beauties.... Pictures by me and still in my collection.
Well, talk about OGs. Stunning to have the whole collection of them, and with the tags too! This is a line I can really relate to, as the classic Bullmark/Marusan stuff never really reached any shores where I was at, so Bandai was indeed the first exposure I had to the world of kaiju. And a gorgeous and imaginative world it was. While I connected more with the Bandai Ultraman series, that kicked off in '83-84, I definitely had a lot of love for the King of Monsters and his family. The 'arms open' guy (third down) brings back a lot of memories, as does the one right below him. For a generation, these became the 'classic' Gojis.
Very damn cool. It's funny how little I know about the 80's Bandai figures...given that that's when I grew up. Hell, I'm way more familiar with the Toho Marusans and Bullmarks of the 60's/70's than I am with these!
Excellent share, Anthony! As much as their 6" scale Toho sculpts don't do it for the modern me, it's still a total thrill to see those originals any day of the year. Well captured, my friend. I've a little more smoke to blow today: These 3 fan paints, scored and shared by @ultrakaiju... ...fill me with joy and envy every time that I think of them. My fixed fakes fantasy come true.
I received the new Bandai Shin Godzilla yesterday. Tail is very long. I miss the days when the gold logo sticker wasn't printed on to the tag. New movie monster releases. Cheap fun toys.
Thanks for posting these, Anthony. My son has been looking for good pictures of these for weeks. He's practically foaming at the mouth for these. I'm looking forward to them as well!
They are quite fun pieces. Your son will love them. Especially the Shin Godzilla. Man that tail is pretty long.
That is crazy long, Anthony. I am still a bit on the fence about Shin Goji, but I remain hopeful. I am optimistic for a whole new chapter in fantastic Godzilla. So, did you get these imported from somewhere?
I'm grateful you posted them as well, love seeing the Shin Goji in this form! Pre-ordered; I'm diggin' it. I'll always love the Bandais and I'm always excited to get a new one ~
Lovely stuff, Mark! I really dig clear vinyl, and wouldn't have thought I need a purple Ultraman as badly as I do when I look at that pic. Really great colours and they look so nice together. Congratulations on picking up a luscious set of toys.
I'm not nearly as interested in the standard shin godzilla as I am these grotesque lil beauties. These transforming gojis make for some fun bizarre toys. There's never been any godzilla toys like them.
