I love Louis C.K.! His show on HBO, "Life With Louie" was great too, you can probably still find a torrent for the whole series. Louie on FX is awesome, I love that they don't really seem to edit or censor his material at all, but I wish the show had an hour format.
This is my favorite new show, so glad it got picked up for a second season. I like the way the show really conveys the spirit of New York City, the vignettes are very much like Woody Allen's early films in that way. Great cinematography, too, Louis knows his way around a camera. Favorite one so far was probably the bit where the 26 year old picks him up and begs him to tell her how old he is while she has sex with him. "I'm so old that I voted for Dukakis! I'm so old that I'm older than anyone in Major League Baseball, except maybe that one guy on the Phillies!" Ah, found it: http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/210 ... f-EP4.html
I want a slice of pizza every time that show comes on. It is a better advertisement then Domino's Super Bowl millions. God that pizza looks good! I am from Texas, we don't know what pizza is sadly... Show is hilarious. xrated adult hilarious. You can watch the whole season "on demand".
Love Louis C.K.! His HBO series was good but I think I prefer his current one. It's really been picking up steam as the season unfolds. My fave episode so far has to be the one where his Mom comes out to him. The restaurant scenes had me in tears! I'm so thrilled to hear that it's been coming back for a 2nd season!
louie was already one of my favorite working comedians, but this show brings my respect for him to a higher level especially since he's regularly writing and directing. it zips from stand-up to larry david people-hating humor, to authentic and direct conversations between people - there is nothing else like it on tv. http://www.hulu.com/louie
I have been a fan of his for some time as well, seen him improv, he rules! I love the way he holds the mic
Loved the scene in the restaurant when his mother came out as a lesbian. Then, after the closing credits, they showed this bit with her that was like Pee-Wee from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.. just a classic. Both. Plus, he doesn't force his comedy bits. Many of them are exaggerated for comedic effect, but he means most of his shit. I think. Him and Dave Attell are my favorite comedians. Plus Chappelle, of course. True-to-self attitude matched with great story telling.
watched the finale episode and it was really good. as always, a nice mix of comedy, drama and realism. i've enjoyed this show a lot and will be back for the next season. everything's still up on hulu with the week plus delay.
I'm a huge fan of Louie. The one gripe I had, and it's a small one, is that I remember wishing that they'd flesh out the relationship with his niece a bit more. There was something interesting there. But the Dane Cook episode was priceless as was the Joan Rivers one. This past season rocked.
Love Louie, saw him at the Chicago Theater over the summer and he killed it. The deer story in his stand up almost made my friend pee himself. The show is great, I really love his interactions with his daughters. The Joan Rivers episode was hilarious.
I have been looking for a new show to get into, I will have to give this one a try. The only Louis CK stuff I have seen was on Parks & Rec, love that show but his character was forgettable.
^^^ awwww, Officer Dave was sweet. In many ways I think Louie is the finest American TV show in years - it hits on an honesty not approached by even the recognized best dramas. With it's unique shorthand it manages to be bitingly hilarious, utterly surprising, achingly sad and ecstatically relateable; often all in the same moment. Most programs leave you with virtually nothing, some tie up with an excellent button each time out, but none stay with me to the degree that so many of CK's vignettes do each every time I think about them. Lucky Louie picked up the torch laid down in the late '70s by Norman Lear, Louie picks up the pens of our greatest authors of short stories. Plus it's got poop jokes.
'nuf said. Stanhope's episode was just heavy. Why that fucker dont get more acting calls is beyond me.
yeah I just watched it today, it was great. my roommate bought it & I watched his but I feel like I should go give him the $5 also, what's the etiquete there lol. I like the whole concept behind his releasing this special the way he did & it seems to be a success in his eyes. I hope more artists start doing things this way. Also, everyone knows he wrote & directed 'Pootietang' right?
downloading this now! I love the show, dude is mad funny in a very creative way. Also, every knows he wrote & directed 'Pootietang' right?[/quote] And i did not know this, explains why i like that movie so much
