Wham Bam Bam, thank you, ma'am! View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram
Joe had SO much good shit at DCon this year, but goddamn it, I really had to keep up on my obsession with Secretoy and Krono. That being said, though, I just had to pick up a Bam Bam. I feel like this sculpt is the natural evolutionary sculpt from Kid, to Mecha, even to Cyco, to Twin, to Bam Bam. The face is like a bastardized mashing of the Kid’s playful grin, but the Twins’ agony driven expression. Bringin’ the Cinema Monster’s three eyes, two nose, one mouth is a grand touch of creative consistency, as is the triple appendages from the Twins. The stitches and boils in the body give me more of an infected, rotting character, as opposed to the Twins, whom are already decomposed. And, of course, the arm with the stone, mace - like “hand,” where the Bam Bam name derives. I feel like this guy could easily exist in 80’s Saturday morning cartoons. My favorite thing about this particular paint app, is, the vinyl base is pink, but Joe’s application begs the question, to my eyes at least, could it be blue based with pink sprays instead? Very happy with version being first to join my shelves. Spoiler
Fuckin’ fantastic. The paints on that are so vibrant, but not to the point of losing any sculptural integrity. I LOVE that rub in the face. Makes me think of comic book line and ink drawings, a la Sin City.
For posterity’s sake, here are the remaining three of Joe’s Rotten Lime offerings. Usir came with an additional, exchangeable Diggler head. Awesome, awesome addition.
Don’t know how but i ended up with that CK in the pic Awesome Splurrt drop, looking forward to the next one
I wanted to give SB the first real reveal of my upcoming line, Dokuro Pocket Monsters. You may notice they are more kaijuesque than other SPLURRT toys, with clear influence drawn from Hedorah and King Gidorah, my hope was that they would escape the regular SPLURRT grouping and that any neo-kaiju collector would be able to pick up a few to fill out any kaiju collection. There is nothing I enjoy more about managing the display than getting an awesome new mini in the mail and wedging it between two standard kaiju, or scootching everything over to make room for one more mini. Seriously, making room for minis is the best, it is because of this love for minis I made this line. These are marble test pulls, I will have a marble run at the upcoming Mandarake sofubi expo available through Science Patrols, and I'll have some solid (hopefully painted) making an appearance state side at Five Points.
I have a growing paternal love for that two headed kaiju. Love these lil dudes can’t wait to get my grubby hands on em!

These got done so fast! I’ve got some Bullmark minis and a good handful of PK minis, and you’re absolutely right. There super fun to squeeze into the crevices of standard kaiju on the shelves. The closest I’ve got for you is the Puppoo, so these will be super welcome. The marbles look killer, of course, but I can’t wait to see you paint these up. Awesome, little travel toys!
Joe was my first stop at five points last year and it looks like he's going to be my first this year! these mini's are just great!
Arch Usir is here, and the fires of hell have never burned hotter. Clickity that link, and you'll see a brush of photos. Congrats on the first official, painted release, Joe!!! View this post on Instagram
