  1. He rides forever in our hearts and memories.
Glad that he had friends with him.
We should all be so lucky.
Hug your friends, family or fur babies, cause life is way too short.

I never had the chance to meet Connell in person, unfortunately. He was one of the astonishing member these boards when I was an habitué.
May he have rest in peace.

I'm sharing a pic a of toy he gave me over 10 years ago - it will accompany my memory of Phuntsy for ever.

Such a great guy! I only met him in person once, but we had allot of back and forth over the years. I sold him some stuff and he sold me some stuff too. He will surely be missed! R.I.P.

I got to meet Connell a few times, back when TAG was a big shop on Melrose. He was always friendly and helpful. At DCON, he would never bat an eye if I was sitting behind the counter grabbing a bite or gawking at toys. I have one toy I got from him recently, a toy I've been after for a while. It has a bit more sentiment imbued in it now.

I hope Connell is at rest, and his friends and family support and accept his transition.

I can feel the loss and glow of Connell’s presence all at once—and a lot of beautiful things have been said here in remembrance of him. I will take a moment of silence…

    May he rest in peace.

Goodbye to a great, beloved person. Always appreciated my interactions & transactions with him; sad that we never got meet in real life. Talk about a life well-lived... sometimes in reading about Connell's past, it felt like he lived three or four lives in one.
    Rest easy, Space Knight!! Well-earned!!

Thank you, Robert, for sharing this news with us, as sad as it is. It is so hard to lose people from this community, but even more so when they have been so influential across it. The many comments on here are a testimony that even from afar, Connell touched many people with his joyful and honest ways and love of toys. So many of us regarded him as a friend, even though we might never have met him outside of across a long-distance connection. This is stirring a lot of emotions, but I take comfort in this time with reflecting on all the Connell saw and experienced in his great lifetime, and what he gave back as well in sharing with others. His passing is a loss to us all, but his legacy will ride on and keep driving this plays in unexpected ways. Much like it was with Chris, I know I will revisit many threads on the board in years to come with his integral fingerprint on them, and experience both joy and sorrow in doing so. He will never be forgotten, and so, rides on forever indeed with each of us. I am happy that his final moments were comforted by friends and loved ones. May the Space Knight cruise through the infinite universe unfettered, and forever encounter its mysteries and marvels. Peace and eternal adventure, Connell. And thank you.

Met and chatted with Connell at TAG some years back. Though I couldn't correctly recall his name until someone here reminded me a year or so ago, it was a memorable meeting.
Extraordinary being; I can only echo what so many have already said in this thread.

Sometime that same morning of the 5th, a very near and dear friend also departed, peacefully, unexpectedly after a short illness. Another positive being, vibrant and full of life, exploring and enjoying their interests. Perhaps they and Connell met that morning on the way wherever they're headed. If so, I can imagine the conversation, and that brings a smile. Connell's now inextricably linked with my friend in the garden of thoughts, where they rest in peace.

Thank you to everyone that spent time with Connell there at the end. Blessings to all.

Been thinking a ton about Connell. I worked with him at TAG for years up until we closed. 3 days out of the week for 8 hours, then I’d drive him home at night so he wouldn’t have to take the bus. You get to know people very well like this so I viewed him more than a friend and as my grandpa. But also like a grandpa, after he moved from Los Angeles, I didn’t always keep in contact, especially after everything that happened to me in 2020.

A couple of us visited him over the new years weekend, it was very hard to see him in that state. Connell has always been the life of the party to me so not hearing his usual sing song greeting was heartbreaking as well. It was comforting that he did light up when we arrived and that his mind was still sound even though he was in immense pain. These past couple years have taught me that sometimes all you can do or all that some people want is comfort. So I hugged him when he would wake up as he was in and out of sleep, every chance I could get I hugged him. He seemed a bit at ease in those moments.

It was very hard to leave, knowing I wouldn’t see him alive again. He passed away the same day as my birthday and it hit really hard, I was stunned for most of the day. Everyday since we left has felt very long for me, every step is just meandering towards nothing. The only positive is that he is no longer in pain. I know in a couple years it won’t hurt so much, just like it’s been with my sisters passing, but having spent so much time in his amazing presence has once again left me hoping there’s some place after death. Everything he was, every thought he had can’t just float away into the abyss. Guess none of us will know until it’s our time as well.

Hope I get to ride with Phuntsy once again.

I have a bunch of boxed up toys that I’ve purchased over the past couple of years because I’ve run out of room to put them on display. Today I was showing some of them to my 4 year old son. I pulled out a box of the Punk Drunkers lucky cat toys and then saw the writing on the box, it was a box of them that Connell had sent to me..

I started getting all choked up and had to take a moment to honor such a sweet human being.

One time, Connell and I crossed paths at Dcon. I had a Breakbeat Science hoodie on that was over 20 years old. Connell recognized it instantly, and then started talking to me about Drum and Bass music. He knew all of the heavy hitters in the scene and we laughed/joked about old raves. The fact that this 70+ year old man knows all about Drum and Bass makes him the coolest dude I’ve ever met..

I’d like to add a GID Space Knight to my collection someday to honor him...

    Rest in Peace, Phuntsy..

My wife scored me a GID blank of the Space Knight for my birthday back in March. I love him. I feel like Connell is keeping me safe through the night.

That’s cool, I didn’t know there was a box art too. I saw a full painted toy pop up on Mandarake the other day.. maybe that was the box part of it..
Definitely on the wish list. RIP Connell.
