Thats a fantastic bootleg Mark. Super jealous . They did a decent job matching the base plastic to the original "persimmon" orange . Really need one of these!
Need some help on this one! I did not know these little PachiKaiju come individually bagged. Only saw one before and it had a small slingshot in the bag, This poser Bekira came with the little dino. Now it could have been cut and slide in there but still curious about the header! Any info would be appreciated!
I saw this pachi Red King in a store over the weekend. Does anyone have any more info on this one? I love the color scheme! The store owner said that it was "blow molded" but it felt like regular PVC to me...
Its pretty much a 1-1 knock off of the large size Popy (on the left). Its slightly smaller due to the bootlegging process. Made in the late 70s and yeah its regular vinyl not blow mold .
Thanks for the info! > its regular vinyl not blow mold Yeah, I thought that didn't sound right when the store owner told me that. Side note, it's unusual to see any vintage kaiju (bootlegs or otherwise) in retro toy stores these days in the U.S.! I was surprised to run into a whole case of them.
I scored this Ultraman Taro & Ultraseven on the weekend. Luckily the dealer kept them back for me, because she's a friend and i'm a regular customer of hers. She found them at a toy collectors house, in his shed ... in an old drawer she had to force open, because it was stuck. They were stuffed in there with a bunch of random vintage treasures, probably not looked at for years. Both are blow mold and about 6" high. It says made in Hong Kong on the header. So happy with these two!
Absolutely amazing find there, @The Moog ! Just the very sort of thing a lot of us (well me, at any rate) dream of. A complete treasure and come across in some of the most exciting way possible. This is really the epitome of the joy in the hobby. What a delight those both are; wonderful sculpts and such colours, too. Headers are gold. The fact you found these locally, and they were 'connected' with you makes it all that much better. Sincere congratulations on this Ultra duo.
@The Moog So great! enjoy the fact they economized and used Taros body for both (guess it makes sense they are father/son). Ive seen the Taro boot before in red/silver but never this crazy easter sunday colorway. Fantastic scores.
I thought this Definitely Not King Ghidora and Definitely Not Mazinga Z were interesting: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x1093818295 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n1093771878 Does anyone have any info on the pachi King Ghidora? That one went pretty high....
Is that green one miura? I know the two headed orangish one with GID paint is miura, but a friend in japan told me the green is “unknown” Would be really sick if it is!
The arms/wings on that Ghidorah are the same as Miura’s Pegyaos, so it’s always been my tie - in assumption, as well as a couple homies in Japan tellin’ me the same ‘cause the headers are the same on theirs.
That’s enough convincing for me-Thought the arms looked similar to the pachi peg- I’m always learning
This is the first time I've seen the red one on the left. That head looks a lot like Marusan's Doragiras.
@XVivaHateX Oh, shit, thank you for the side by side. I’ve never seen ‘em next to each other! Knowing this now I’m still gonna speculate it’s Miura since the general shape and textures are so similar. And it’s a bit of a stretch but the X textures of both Ghidorah bodies has sat with me, as well.
Somehow missed this. That is a super impressive group Chris. These are not for the faint of heart to try collecting now, the kikaida in particular goes for a fortune now days.
