Awesome score Roger! I love Rainbowman. Hey I have to ask is my head and mask different from yours? Maybe it isn't or its just the light? Looks like it, here's mine for comparison:

Thank you Chris, I think the heads are the same, but as the photos are taken from different angles they look a little different. As for the mask I find very similar also, only by the variation of the color of the sun that in mine is more golden and in yours has a bluish color, I have the theory that yours was for longer time in the bag and the color greenish blue of the sun in the mask is a reaction of the painting, because as you can see in the photos the vinyl of your figure it's in better condition; Looks more white and mine has a more yellowish color.
The first photos that I remember seeing from this figure, were those of your collection on flickr so thanks to you I acquire the taste for these masked heroes.
    Best regards!

Ahhh yeah side by side they do look similar Roger. I forgot mine was bagged when I got him, so yeah that's probably right also (about the coloration). Thanks for the pic.

Hey you're building quite the removable mask hero collection yourself, I love them too. In fact I get excited when anyone gets one here. Best toys IMO. I don't know why but the fact that you can take a mask off and reveal a generic head just has that appeal to me! I just wish they weren't getting so expensive!

That is a great score, Roger. Love the Rainbowmen too, as they were some of the first vintage heroes I ever picked up. While you do see some slight (and not-so-slight) paint variations in a lot of the bootleg figures, I think you are definitely on the right track with suggesting the colour difference of the sun emblem could be due to paint oxidation. This is quite common in a lot of gold and silver metallic paints that you see, to the point where some are outright green and even look like a different colour. I wonder too about his boots/gloves. More subtle, and could just be a brightness or photo thing, but it could easily be just different batches of blue paint that they had on hand or different painters were using at the time. It's fun to chase and learn about all these different types. But, getting back to the figure, definitely wonderful. Yours is in superb shape, excellent paint condition and still very bright and white vinyl, with a great condition cape. It was worth the hunt, as it clearly paid off in this case, and this new Rainbowman is going to stand proud in your toy collection.

    @ultrakaiju thank you Steve!
You are right about the boots, they're a more intense blue, and to the touch the paint feels thick, here I go again with my theory; It seems to me that in the workshop they gave two layers of paint to the boots and gloves or during the years after its manufacture at some point was repainted.
As you say in general is in very good condition, the only thing that might criticize it is that the head feels a bit loose. Again thank you very much for your comments!

@Lixx Chris thank's, It seems to me that I still have an incipient collection of figures of heroes with a removable mask and I still have a long way to go. Considered that I have little time collecting I do not have many references for the prices of this type of figures of five or ten years ago, but it seems to me that every day it is more difficult to find them and even more at a decent price. For example the Fireman bootleg with the clear mask, the cheapest I have seen was 22,000 ¥ a year ago and was a loose figure. I hope that this trend of higher prices does not follow for the good of our pockets, because if so, instead of saving for vacations or a car we would have to save to acquire a pair of figures.
But I have the confidence that the vinyl gods will reward us with some bargain:D

Pretty sure this is a bootleg of Ultraman Tiga. No makers marks at all, just has 'No.311' on his back.
10.5" high with electronic sounds activated by a button on his side.
He's made of fairly sturdy plastic which must be quite thin because he's quite light.

When you press the button there is a Japanese voice sample, followed by laser sounds and explosions. Also the light flashes on his chest.

Very cool indeed. It is getting fairly hard enough these days to chase down the removable mask dogface version, but this grey bootleg is definitely one I haven't come across before. And as he mentioned, with the painted boots it definitely stands out. In terms of variants, the packaged one on the right (of the pic) seems like it has more of a silver chest, so I'll have to maybe pay more attention to the shoddy photos of these you see in listings, as it is not immediately discernible, except with direct comparison [next to] the gold. Looks like Funayara-san just needs the green chest for a complete Devilmask boot family. (and YES, the mini is still unbelievably excellent!)

^^ I think there are a wide number of chest spray variations on these bootleg devilman. Mine is completely gold but who knows, maybe the airbrush got clogged, they ran out of gold, could be any number of reasons. I've seen the bluish one colored green as well.

Thank for posting that pic Anthony @chimply.kaiju I've never seen a gray one with painted boots. That's crazy. I love it!

Thank you, this was a really fun score for me. I tried to convince Flynn to let go of one of his blow mold gojis last year without success, heh. Now hunting for the blue version which has the same dark matte paint colors but in reverse: green on top of the chest, and blue on the belly and spine:

Thanks for the extra photo @deafmetal Mark, the blue painting on the arms is the sort of details that are imperceptible until you have the figure in your hands.
    It's like welcoming me! :D

Probably South Korean. These big electronic figures were popular there. I have a "Vector Eagle" character from a SK "Sentai" film. Same height and similar screw/speaker pattern on the back.

Wow Mark, such an incredible Goji you nabbed there!! Totally love him, and I have such an adoration of all bootlegs. They did great work on putting this guy in a poly form, and yet retaining all the Bullmark charm - quite similar to the Red King boots, which are one my favourites too. I really like the lovely blue on this one, and he has such excellent paint, as you've already pointed out. He survived the years (and play) in excellent condition too, which is so nice to see. Congratulations on a wonderful toy man, a perfect companion to your vintage Gojis (and of course his red cousin is no slouch either)! :)

I had some time looking for a Kikaider specimen and it seems that after some time I had luck. The best thing is that it is a bootleg very similar to the licensed Takatoku except for small differences; as the color of the belt and the buckle...
I feel fortunate to have been able to take it with his header card, since the photos of the seller were not the best and I had my doubts about the state of the figure. It has some writing on his back but I feel that it gives him personality...
