Stumbled upon this today, Haven't liked any of Erick Scarecrow's figures to date, but this guy is infinitely better. http://www.toycyte.com/erick-scarecrows ... oming-soon
Even if people like it, it bugs me that he calls his urban vinyl stuff "old school kaiju," which it's not.
quote (from another figure): Old Skool Kaiju series takes place in a hybrid Hip-Hop and Kaiju universe. Barf. I was never sold on the East West fusion thing. This is a classic example of why that is...
From the site "Erick couldn’t “reveal” any other descriptions of the piece" But I can... "Shitburger"
I dont necessarily mind this. Yeah, there is a huge hip-hop influence in his other designs, but this one, if you didn't know it was from him you couldnt tell.
shouldn't it be carrying an old school spraycan too? or carrying a boombox? oh wait, old school kaiju just means putting an anarchy symbol on it right? my bad...i shouldn't post about things I'm not knowledgeable on.
I think it's funnier that the kanji used in the logo literally mean "old school." The attempted hipness of this line bugs me, but overall, this one ain't bad. The new KFGU stuff is much worse.
Am I the only one who thinks it kind of looks like Bounty Hunter. That's not good, but the more I see it the more I pick up a BXH influence.
from the pic i don't see anything horribly offending about it other than them trying to pass it off as 'old skool kaiju' and the spelling of the word 'skool'
lol. ....seriously though, from the pic the figure doesnt look bad, as long as its labeled western vinyl. but what makes it disgusting is that theyre calling it "kaiju"
How is it not kaiju (from what we can see)? I think this has more of a claim to the term than RxH, which most seem to assume is 'kaiju.'
Who started calling Real Head kaiju anyway? No one in Japan that I know of. I am not sure where it started but fight figures are not kaiju. Are Real Head fight figures? Maybe a new name needs to be used, how about Real Head.
