Could be better news for sure...but that's only like...a 3 month delay for Breaking Bad....it could be worse, especially in light of the writer's strike a couple years back.
So episode 4 was pretty good. I like the twists that weren't in the comic. Thoughts? I'm still in pain from the realization this show might be not airing again till next fall.
I got a little worried there with the whole gangbanger thing. Everything these days seems to have to incorporate that or a rapper actor, but it smoothed out nicely before cheese took over.
I agree I thought the same thing and we'd have to endure some huge ego joining the group, but it did pan out nice.
I was a little disappointed seeing the group lower their guard at night. It seems like during daytime, they keep a pretty good watch out. But when darkness falls, seems like they have no security plan. I guess I expected more from Officer he's-dead-let's-fuck. But I guess there's a difference between cops and soldiers. Oh well! let's see if they learn from their mistakes.
seriously. I would think they would try to put up some kind of perimeter.... something more than fucking tin cans on a wire that the obviously cannot hear. they can build a tall enough fence out of tree limbs can't they? wtf? I was waiting for Mr. Cartoon to pop up in the Vatos scene.
Last night's episode had me jumping up running around and yelling at the TV in that last 10 minutes. I was thinking the same thing about the perimeter defense. The stringed cans make a shitty burglar alarm, what would make you think they'd be any better for zombies. And those zombies had a mini-feast before tasting lead. Can't wait for these last 2 episodes.
really awesome episode last night. tons of suspense, had me on the edge of my seat.... especially the stand off with the vatos
This was the best episode so far. I liked the twist with the vatos and the total carnage at the end. Not sure I like the idea of Merle surviving, might have been more interesting if they found him all zombied out. And the first time we've seen zombies chowing down on humans, right? After the little sister died, I was yelling at the screen, "get away from her!" Guess that's going to happen next week.
yea, i wish she didnt get eaten. she was a sweet lovable character. but i guess that was the whole point
Maybe it was just a process of slowly toeing the line to see what they could get away with. The horse scene, the deer scene, and then once the sponsors and network were comfortable with having that stuff in there, they went for broke with the human smorgasbord in this episode. Also, it took place in mostly darkness, which helps soften things. I can buy the idea of them letting their guard down. In most of these post-apocalyptic stories, the survivors (having not read post-apocalyptic stories themselves) usually make a series of tragic mistakes that they end up learning from.
I haven't read the comic, so I don't have a clue about upcoming plot twists. But I'd be pretty sweet if Merle had figured out a way to lure the zombies back to camp in order to take revenge. He'd probably figure his brother would be smart enough to save himself. Then "eye of and eye" for the other folks. You leave me for the zombie lunch, well I'll turn you into a zombie buffet!
I thought it was fairly obvious that the one-handed red neck had brought the zombie horde down on the camp to strike revenge for them making him saw off his own hand...
Interesting idea, how would he do it without them hearing or seeing something? And why would he do it, if (as far as he knew) his brother was in the camp?
If I remember right Merle wasn't in the comic but the night attack was. I thought they might have added Merle bringing the zombies as a plot twist, but the fact that his brother would have been in camp throws a wrench in that idea. I even thought about him bringing the zombies in the truck but it had an open cab.
In the episode, right when the guys who've gone to rescue Merle discover their vehicle has been stollen, didn't they look at each other and say 'Merle'? And then the camera suddenly shifts back to the camp and a huge horde of zombies bursts into the area. I was thinking maybe Merle saw his brother was with the group looking for him in the city so he knew his brother would be okay if he brought the zombies down on the camp...
hmmmmmm, very interesting idea. Merle got the zombies in the truck and took them up to the camp? that's some fucked up shit. but the guys he was really pissed at including the sherif and black guy were with his brother in town.
Yeah. Also, if he saw the group before taking the truck, why would he strand his brother in Atlanta where it's much more dangerous? I'm trying to imagine him managing to corral a dozen zombies into the back of that van with one hand.
Do we really know if Merle gives a shit about his brother? Also, shovel guy got sunstroke and was acting mildly crazy. Merle got sunstroke on the roof + self-amputee = real crazy crazy.
Very interesting concept. I kept thinking, "When is Merle going to show up?" I can see him dangling that cauterized stump out the window and driving up to camp nice and slow, no noise then really. A real backwoods Pied Piper.
