Ha! No I wish. It was a pic from some japanese toy blog I visited. I just thought it was fitting for Choon's situation. It's my next move though also as I have seriously pushed my shelf space to the limit so it's toys bins till I move into an actual home for my near future. I never thought I'd be one of those guys but now I am Damn this hobby!
Haha, I better rephrase, I ran out of prime slum space, so there's still room. Especially for X-Seijin, eh Randy?!
I'm moving in a new house today (actually first time in my life I'll live in a house, I'm sort of scared!). I'll try and take a good "whole collection" shot, but it will probably just end up being a pic of boxes like this...
OH I'm not moving either (well at least for another year). I live in a small apt. I have an agreement with the g/f. No more than 3 detolfs in living room or I'd have to move the collection into a bedroom. Since there is no room there at all, I'm stuck with storing anything I buy now till I do move Since I love toys too much to stop buying altogether and you know you can't pass things up when something you've wanted forever pops up, I guess I have to make do.
Amazing collection Choon - been staring at the large one on flickr and keep spotting new things! Chris, you'll have to make a new deal when you do move: bigger house = double the detolfs!! - I've not got mush room left on this shelf!
wow Ian. i once got almost same as your Matango collection but never can display like yours. are those light source always on? and will it damage the paint like sunlight?
thanks! not too predictable a joke eh!! thanks for a few of them the lights don't go on much and are only LEDs anyway, so don't think they'd damage - sometimes have them on as a light source when it's dark and I'm working!
Enough snippets from you Ian. We want to see an entire wall. Just give me some warning so I can sit down first. And I know I definitely will need to sit down when Alex post his. How 'bout it, Alex. You had a population explosion on them Anrakus.
The rest of the shelves ain't currently that tidy! Yep come on Alex - it's about time for a 'full on Anraku chubby'
Been learning a lot in SB world these past weeks, and in studying kurumonz's recently posted shelf: It is totally reconfirmed that AA sculpts and paints are nearly beyond this world. I'm still not to sure about dear Goga, but I'm fairly certain that will change if ever I have one cupped in the hand, feeling it's weight and bringing it closer and further from the eye for a bit; There is no doubt that Buta No Hana channels the essence of each creature it chooses to depict, and communicates the joy of invention, craft and absurdity that went into even the shoddiest of runs of toku greatness; I am reminded that Chris from Grumble Toy has abashed my impression that Americans can't reach me through toy design and his paint work is some of the most evocative out there. I'm not sure it's warmth, care and seeming simplicity can be beat; I still don't get Beamons, but hey look nicer in a crowd then hanging out en masse with their own kind. I still love M1 minis. That said, I need to strike oil soon.
send that box to me and i'll give them a real shelf to play on! they're drowning in their own filth in that tiny box!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Paint scuff nightmare!!! My OCD just exploded. If I was a dentist that would be my toy grab box for the kids that didn't bite me.
I recently reorganized my shelves and ended up with this. I think it's the colours on it that do it for me. Some of my Anraku, all of my Zollmen and some guests.
^^^ Great to see Chris's bird standing tall between those Anrakus - I love that thing. Who are the two goofs just behind him?
