This thread is weird at this point. I know they're friends, but shouldn't Dream Rocket and Max Toy have separate threads? Just a thought. I really love the forthcoming DR Cobra Man.
cross-posting this here in case some max toy fans don't tread into the whatever section: silent auction event on june 7, 2012 (mark nagata, rotofugi)
First painted Kaiju Zanga. Pre-orders soon from MTC USA. The MTC Japanese sales price is 15,000 yen + S&H.
Thanks for posting those pics, chimply...I hadn't seen that yet. I was actually just gonna post, myself, about Zanga to see what people thought of it...
There's so much I personally don't like about it. <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_neutral.gif\" alt=\"\" title=\"Neutral\" /> Even with that being said, I can still definitely appreciate it. You can tell that there was a lot of time invested in sculpting such a behemoth and a lot of technical precision handling a sculpt with something like ten or eleven articulated pieces. I can see its appeal, it's just not something I could picture on my shelves but I'm also crazy picky. Still looking forward to seeing how Cobra Man turns out!
I should probably clarify that by 'classically over-the-top' I was thinking of the 90's. Reminds me of Destroyah.
Zanga is impressive. It has a lot of articulation for a sofubi toy and the sculpt work is great (as expected). That said, the thing is just so huge and so busy. I think some people will be really into it, but for me, there's just possibly too much going on with this one.
It's pretty cool and very nicely done, I just don't have room for it. I'm also looking forward to the cobra man, and am liking the max toy/frenzy collabs.
They've extended the preorder till Sept 3rd, so still time to think about getting a Zanga. Think he'll be my first "big" vinyl purchase, both monetarily and literally.
My unpainted brown version arrived. I was not prepared for how large it really is. I'm still a Fresh Meat to sofubi, but he's easily the biggest I've ever seen. Probably not as big as the Bullmark Giants though.
Mark Nagata in Stgcc Media Preview super cool to have a chat with him, hope to see more stuffs tml at his booth
He's ~ 13" in every dimension. It doesn't sound huge, but the mass of this guy is incredible. He's the size of my torso (not a good comparison, I am a very tiny man).
got myself a Zynga, and he's on his way! should receive him in a few days time. I'm EXCITED! I saw the prototype at STGCC and had a short chat with Mark as well, nice guy! a fan since then
is this where we discuss maxtoyco kaijus? cuz I cant find specific maxtoyco thread. just got my red painted zynga and boy it is AWESOME! so HUGE, so pretty! .. then I saw this *faints December 9 release, by Medicom - Zynga Monster Scorpion Armor (google translated) I need a friend in Japan!
