So I have that one shelf which is my favourite, and I rotate the toys in it till I get worried about sunlight... Here are some examples:
Some weird bootleg that's half-vinyl/half-plastic. Absolutely nuts. Yoo-hoo, Cheech Wizard hiding in the back. I never did score one of those [/QUOTE] It's still a beauty! Maybe one day mate!
My vintage minis so far (and a few larger ones): and a belated shout to @scobot who wanted to see the 2 red and blue robots I got from him. There's a dupe of the red one in there too!
You know, I get distracted a lot and sometimes buy newer pieces. There are a lot of great people out there making great stuff. But I always come back to vintage.
My Elegab shelf so far. A few are hard to see at this angle, and I'm waiting for my clear purple Hyouga King and cyan Hitogomira right now. I'm still missing a few that I'm looking for (see my signature!) to make a full set of all of the Dokuro Tarou series. Man do I love this stuff! Elegab Shelf Feb 2017 by Doug Hardy, on Flickr
Same here, with notable exceptions of Butanohana, M1, and less frequently Anraku, Shikaruna, & Awesome Toy- vintage is my heart truly lies.
^ I don't know what the Real Head character above with the keypad-face is named, but that is a neat sculpt. Nice shelf!
Thanks! That's the "adult" Hone Borg. Not sure if that's the official name. Here's a better pic showing the arm attachments, and before I swapped the head.
@poysntixels - Your vintage shelf looks incredible! Trying out either Crystal-Mecha or a Marusan Crystal version to reflect light into my Mechagodzilla shelf:
Great shelves there John, just full of colourful goodness. I have been wanting to grab one of those Ikea units since I learned about them, but they are just so costly here. Detolfs surprisingly do very little for me. I hope to figure out a good display solution/compromise in the near future though.
@ultrakaiju I'm afraid that I came into a bit of spendable money and splurged. This is actually the tall model Elton by Furniture of America. It's got similar styling to Ikea's Fabrikör, but it is available in hospital green (also orange)!
Hey, that's great man, thanks for the tip! It's good to see some other companies are getting in on the display case market, and style of these. Funny, because the green was actually my favourite version, but I think was 'retired' by Ikea. I am moving soon again (argh, what?!) so for now displaying will have to wait a bit more.
