Q&A from my PM life: Addressed! ^ From page 12 of the very first issue of Grant Morrison's marathon run.
It's a great art book for those that love Ploog's art. Haha, yeah the price on the variants are silly. Some great grabs yourself David. For the 2001 I only have the issues with Machine Man. I have a complete collection of Devil Dinosaur. Great stuff to read.
Finally cracked open Love is Love, the fundraising book for the Pulse nightclub shooting. I wanted to support the cause when it came out, but hadn't gotten around to reading it. Very touching collection of art and shorts--most importantly--for a good cause.
Bought and read recently: BLACK SCIENCE vol.1 Image Comics Liked it. Pulp sci-fi with very vibrant artwork and an action packed story. BEAUTIFUL DARKNESS D&Q Best book i've read in a while, very accomplished and different. People call it an anti-fairy tale, but i saw it more as a new dark twist on fairies and the like. There was something strangely unsettling about it. I will be reading it again. Wonderful artwork, i can't recommend it enough!!
I am a big fan of Black Science, Kind of Lost in Space w/ some inter-dimensional elements involved. Matteo Scalera is such a great illustrator. I just picked up Kill 6 Billion Demons, it has an unconventional printing format. Can wait to crack it open. The art kind of reminds me of James Stokoe. I remember this being a web comic that ran for a long time.
Since today is Alien day yesterday Aliens: Dust To Dust first issue was released by Dark Horse Comics. Not going to spoil much but this one puts you right in the middle of a human colony being taken over by Xenomorph's.
just finished off the invincible series. highly recommended! if you’re not into superhero comics, this one has a good chance of changing your mind. it’s basically the only superhero comic you need, really. it starts off like your average coming of age/finding super powers origin story, but quickly turns itself on its head and never lets you go.
Rejuvenating this thread as I've been on a comic drawing kick lately. Been watching Jim Lee live streams on Twitch and just trying to get myself back into the groove.

Might be of interest to some folks here. IDW is putting together an artist's edition of Byrne's [now classic] X-men run: http://www.idwpublishing.com/produc...-82879109&mc_cid=0bbebd3abf&mc_eid=576400d827
That is a quality release for sure! Last one I bought was the Blackhole one that Fantagraphics released. That said Lena grabbed me two Kirby ones for Christmas FF and New God’s
Semi related I read the first issue of FF and I was just so overjoyed I couldn’t be happier to see them putting the band back together so to speak. Also so far I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read of Spencer and Ottley on ASM seems like a strong simple fun take on the book
Just ordered a stack of bristol, erasers and pens for my studio. I set up a new L-shape desk this past weekend in hopes that it will aid in my studio productivity. I haven't drawn up a solid comic strip in roughly 9 years so this will be an adventure for sure. About a month or so ago my girlfriend and I went to a local eatery that supplies paper across the tables so that customers can draw right on the table and I ended up brain-puking a new character that I came up with on the spot in less than fifteen seconds of sitting down, so I'm hoping to bring him to life on some proper bristol in the next couple days and see where it leads. Also just picked up the first two issues of the Immortal Hulk run. Really excited about this one!
@coma21 Al Ewing, Joe Bennett, Ruy Jose', Paul Mounts and Cory Petit. Alex Ross illustrated the cover of Issue #1. Also it is Bruce Banner/Hulk in this comic, even though apparently Banner's technically been dead since the "Civil War II" arc where he was shot with a vibranium arrow. This story's all about how The Hulk basically can't die and they're revisiting that whole creepy horror vibe from when the Hulk was first introduced so long ago. EDIT: this article does a much better job describing this series. https://www.polygon.com/comics/2018/6/6/17434548/immortal-hulk-marvel-dead-resurrection
