    I’ve thought about this, but just in passing really, that “pink” gets its own color name when it’s just a tinted red. Tinted blue is “sky blue” or “baby blue”. Tinted yellow is “canary yellow” “mizu” is a nice sounding word for tinted blue.

    But it’s just language. Chartreuse is a favorite color of mine, and it’s name come from a liquor. But surely the color was recognized by someone before the liquor was invented.
