I have to say, the Creature Bazaar Minya is an absolute top toy. The dense gold flake base, metallic paint and precise free-sprays make you want to turn him around in your hand all the time, and that tactile experience is a joy thanks to the super-squishy vinyl. You can pop his head off with your thumb and get it back on easily, and the pliable body lets him climb Tokyo Tower without fear of rubbing paint. Simple, beautiful and priced very well.
Well darn. That just sounds like a whole lotta fun I am missing out on. Thanks for sharing this feedback, so often we never get to learn how great toys really are in person, so outside of pics, which are of course nice, this is just the sort of thing I love to hear about. I think you have capture that perfectly, just what makes toy collecting - for most of us - fun. I am thrilled to know that Yuji once again knocked it clear of the rafters with this release.
Creature Bazaar had a couple online releases for the exclusives meant towards the event. Ticket holders were given priority access to the site, and general public was soon to follow.
That minya and tower are awesome...they were sold out when the creature bazaar store went public. $50 retail for it was def the most I would have paid. Now there is one up on that auction site for four times the price. Hopefully there may be another version down the road.
That gamera trike. Dear lord I have no idea how I’m going to get one but I really need to start figuring that out Love it
New from last sufes I December... but I just got it last week. Apparently there’s an open preorder for it to be made in May! It’s my personal favorite “screen accurate” version of this sculpt. The grey lamé looks just great. Now I wish I had grabbed the super7 version all those years ago..
Still on the fence about this despite loving Harryhausen. I feel like my own personal trike collection maintains a Japanese toku theme and this sculpt is very detailed in comparison. However, the box art is just as great as other releases. Hm...
I am really excited about this, love the Harryhausen cyclops, and am a great fan of these trike toys, but something is a bit different with this one. I think it is the overly detailed sculpt, which maybe doesn't translate quite the same as the other M1 guys. Could also be the incredible paint (a lot of colour, details, and styling for one of these guys). No on could question the amazing execution of this fella, he is a stunner, but I think he would stand out a little among the other Yujimades. The cyclops himself has some great charm, but maybe is missing some of the chibi-esque proportions and simplicity to translate to a really superb rider. Looks very close to Pilot Ace versions, as an example. It is different than the version from the recent run with Corey/SP, but maybe just needed to go a bit further. I mean, I am being soooooper overcritical in my analysis here, I love this toy. And would have oodles of fun rolling him all around my apartment. Just trying to offer an objective take. Ah who am I kidding, I would not be able to say no if offered. He is one cool dude, and I love the thought of him biking around his island. Also great is that incredible artwork, the pose and expression he has in that is just perfect!
Was on the fence but ended up pre-ordering one. Definitely stands out among the other cycles but hard to pass up a collab like this .
I don’t know almost anything at all about the tricycles, other than images I’ve seen, but this one is much different than the others. However, I feel that with Quang and Justin involved it’s a very appropriate differential, being they’re such huge Harryhausen and M1 fans. This is a perfect marriage of fandom and influences at play here. I initially couldn’t swing it, but I ended up getting the pre - order with monies I don’t have. I’m too eager to pair this with my Pilot Ace Cyclops.
I’m coming at this another way in that although I like the trikes I’ve only craved a few. But I dunno, this guy looks like he’s having too much fun on it. No funds for fun though at the moment.
Money talks and I caved and got a pre order going too. That master mold though hey? I got cart jacked like it’s no one’s business.
Millennium Godzilla WF2020, GID. I didn't care too much for this sculpt until this version came out...I've seen an all gold one that is pretty amazing too!
Here! Here! I felt the same (posted mine in the other M1号 thread). I guess we can thank b lister actress Kaoru Ukawa for deciding on the paints. Wonderful photos by the way.
@skaldavsatanssol She sure knows how to dress up a good lookin' Godzilla! Thanks for the nice comments on the photos
