On a side note I really hate feeling like an alien here anymore. I look a pics of toys the whole KR migration/instagram crowd are into and pics from shows and think "This toy board is not for me anymore!" Really don't like what I see. Wiish it was mainly a toy board for licensed older characters and bootleg toys influenced by those said toys/ an or toys with more effort put into them. If it weren't for friends made here I'd be gone.

 

I love pachi and neo kaiju, but to me pretty much everything in this hobby is ultimately predicated on the prior existence of all those awesome licensed characters. This board would never have existed without the golden age of kaiju. God bless em all, every last rubber suit. Granted sometimes influences can stretch further back with yokai/oni characters, but to me this hobby would be shallow and meaningless like a KR D#$ny without the history of licensed characters behind it.

 

I just wish everything new didn't look like Rob Zombie created it or looking like a Molly Hatchet /Iron Maiden t-shirt from the 80's. So sick of skulls, two heads, warlord looking toys, babies, zombies etc etc Come on you guys feel me on this lol....

I'm more of a "modern sofubi" fan, and even I feel the same way as you guys do. Two heads and horror toys are really starting to grow stale. I see people coming out with toys like that, and I'm just like "oh look, another." Rotting limbs, twisted zombie faces, two heads, staples and stitches... All being really overdone these days. Also prime fodder for the "quick flip."

I absolutely go gaga for modern toys that have a story/history behind them, though. Learning how Gargamel (and Shikaruna, and Marmit, and Target Earth but for me it started with Gargamel) all borrowed from the original kaiju "Bagun" and "Zagora" from the book 'Zagora Yama no Kaiju' made me so much more interested in the toys and sculpts. The toys are new, but the history is namely Japanese. I'd love to see more of that... Toys done in a Japanese medium, of Japanese yokai and kaiju.

 

LOL I had to look up what a Jimmenkens was, which shows how far out of the loop I am with new toys. Agreed.

B) Actual deals are usually snatched up quicker than a kid grabbing candy on Halloween
C) Overpriced things make me mad

But anyway, a big FUCK YOU to random anxiety attacks. I ate breakfast and settled into bed for a nap before class, and next thing I know every existential question imaginable is bombarding me and making me increasingly nervous. Finally my heart feels like it's going to explode out my chest like an Alien chest burster, and I have no choice but to take a sedative... Which does jackshit, so I have to take another, which finally starts to slow my heart rate but is also starting to knock me out. Looks like I won't be making it to class.

Fuck you to whoever stole my credit card info. I check my account daily (and am thankful I do!!) and no, i didnt spend 40.00 over at ChristianMingle.com, or at Zoosk in San Fran for 28.00. The last thing I bought with my card, was Gas at the corner shop and a ignitor for our oven on amazon.com.

I hope you enjoyed dipping your toe into my finances whoever the fuck you are, the card has been shut down.

Years ago my wife ordered a belt buckle for me & our card was used to sign up for a dating site. She was really making a big deal out of it as if I was the one who signed up until the bank told her it was her card. This was right around Christmas, the worst time to have your card frozen & waiting on a replacement in the mail.

 

My bank called me during my last week's stay in Tokyo, and said they'd had some questions regarding my account. This seemed normal to me 'cause I was taking out monies on the daily during my stay. When I called them, however, they're questions were regarding a $168 charge from a Walgreen's in Yonkers, New York. All I could think was, "Who the fuck spends $168 in Walgreen's???"

Sucks the card was compromised, but glad you were able to get it situated ASAP.

 

Probably buying gift cards. Pretty common scam.

 

Or lots of cigarettes. My Walgreens still has the ol' glass cabinet.

 

I bet I know which Walgreeen's actually. Not because of the crime, but that's my wife's old neighborhood.

Man is Soundflower for Mac an invasive program or what! WTF?! I recorded a live internet radio set before my trip (using Soundflower to record the sound from my speakers in Audacity) and came back to no sound out of my headset jack. I could not figure it out and reset my SMC, PRAM but still no sound. Then I went into my Audio Midi set up and noticed Soundflower had taken over everything. Ran the scripts to uninstall, finally got the headphone option back for output in sound preferences but still noticed Soundflower was around as an option both there and in my audio midi! WTF?!

Searched all over for an traces of Soundflower but nothing was coming up in Finder, then I ran some sudo terminal commands to remove and still it persisted as an option. WTF? Online it said to look for kext file in Library Extensions but it was not there. Finally I used a very good program called "Find Any File" which will pull up anything you search for on your computer and low an behold it was a sneaky 'hidden' invisible file. Put that shit in the trash as well as the dmg download and anything else I could find. Finally gone.

Fuck you Soundflower and your invasive ways. Nothing gets to hang on my computer I don't want there!

 

I have been dealing with a bad mail carrier for the last few months. This guy doesn't even attempt to collect signatures, he just leaves slips in my mailbox even when I am home & my front door is wide open. He has delivered my passports to my neighbor, left a box of light fixtures two blocks over, & today I am dealing with a delayed package that was supposedly put in a parcel locker, but he put the keys in the wrong mailbox. I went to the post office to complain & also called the postmaster, which I am convinced has only made him more spiteful.
