I'm getting really tired of all these reminders of how old I'm getting!!! :D :D :D
Twenty years ago today, I was a senior in high school day dreaming of how great the future would be. Now twenty years later I'm just a big old toy geek still wondering where the fuck my flying car is???????????????

While Master of Puppets is most definately a good album, the last few ones are NOT.

You've gotta remember that Cliff Burton not only added killer bass to their sound but James Hetfield stated that Cliff also did a lot of the arrangements for them also..JH said that CB taught him a lot about writing music, do when Cliff died so did their old sound too.But Justice was one of my favs and still is to this day!!!

    I'll second that.

But I do find it funny that after he was gone his replacement seemed to be the only one trying to keep the "old " Metallica alive. But poor Jason was no match for the Hetfield/Ulrich ego combo.

this will destroy metallica... they are so clueless about how to write or even be a band, they need someone to lead them every step of the way, much like bob rock. Everything i have heard about Rubin's approach lately is he's pretty hands off.

Bob Rock has likely made enough money from them to retire 50 times over.

can't say i'll miss them; they died with cliff.

To be fair though, maybe it will be the spark that lights the fire under their asses. He has pulled out the best albums from most of the bands he's produced - "Reign In Blood", "Blood Sugar Sex Magic", and James has written some of the best riffs in metal. Despite my smart ass remark, I'd rather have a great new Metallica record than nothing. And Rob Trujillo is a monster bass player.

But instead of getting Rick Rubin, maybe they should try and get Dave Mustaine back in the band - he wrote some great Metallica songs. :)

rick rubin is the man, and anyone who disses his methods has no idea what they are talking about...it's been quoted many times that his techniques are different depending on the band.

I'm not a fan of Metallica's new shit, whatsoever, but if anyone can save these guys, it's him.

And Mustaine's days of shredding are way over. New Megadeth sucks more than new Metallica.
