If this country is pathetic enough to elect Trump then he is exactly who we deserve.

Louis C.K. on Trump, from the end of his latest email-blast:

P.S. Please stop it with voting for Trump. It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the 30s. Do you think they saw the shit coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all.

And I'm not advocating for Hillary or Bernie. I like them both but frankly I wish the next president was a conservative only because we had Obama for eight years and we need balance. And not because I particularly enjoy the conservative agenda. I just think the government should reflect the people. And we are about 40 percent conservative and 40 percent liberal. When I was growing up and when I was a younger man, liberals and conservatives were friends with differences. They weren’t enemies. And it always made sense that everyone gets a president they like for a while and then hates the president for a while. But it only works if the conservatives put up a good candidate. A good smart conservative to face the liberal candidate so they can have a good argument and the country can decide which way to go this time.

Trump is not that. He's an insane bigot. He is dangerous.

He already said he would expand libel laws to sue anyone who "writes a negative hit piece" about him. He says "I would open up the libel laws so we can sue them and win lots of money. Not like now. These guys are totally protected." He said that. He has promised to decimate the first amendment. (If you think he’s going to keep the second amendment intact you’re delusional.) And he said that Paul Ryan, speaker of the house will "pay" for criticizing him. So I'm saying this now because if he gets in there we won't be able to criticize him anymore.

Please pick someone else. Like John Kasich. I mean that guy seems okay. I don't like any of them myself but if you're that kind of voter please go for a guy like that. It feels like between him and either democrat we'd have a decent choice. It feels like a healthier choice. We shouldn't have to vote for someone because they're not a shocking cunt billionaire liar.

We should choose based on what direction the country should go.

I get that all these people sound like bullshit soft criminal opportunists. The whole game feels rigged and it's not going anywhere but down anymore. I feel that way sometimes.

And that voting for Trump is a way of saying "fuck it. Fuck them all". I really get it. It's a version of national Suicide. Or it's like a big hit off of a crack pipe. Somehow we can't help it. Or we know that if we vote for Trump our phones will be a reliable source of dopamine for the next four years. I mean I can't wait to read about Trump every day. It's a rush. But you have to know this is not healthy.
If you are a true conservative. Don't vote for Trump. He is not one of you. He is one of him.

Everything you have heard him say that you liked, if you look hard enough you will see that he one day said the exact opposite. He is playing you.

In fact, if you do vote for Trump, at least look at him very carefully first. You owe that to the rest of us. Know and understand who he is. Spend one hour on google and just read it all. I don’t mean listen to me or listen to liberals who put him down. Listen to your own people. Listen to John Mccain. Go look at what he just said about Trump. "At a time when our world has never been more complex or more in danger... I want Republican voters to pay close attention to what our party's most respected and knowledgeable leaders and national security experts are saying about Mr. Trump, and to think long and hard about who they want to be our next Commander-in-Chief and leader of the free world.”
When Trump was told what he said, Trump said "Oh, he did? Well, that's not nice," he told CBS News' chief White House correspondent Major Garrett. "He has to be very careful."

When pressed on why, Trump tacked on: "He'll find out.”
(I cut and pasted that from CBS news)

Do you really want a guy to be president who threatens John McCain? Because John McCain cautiously and intelligently asked for people to be thoughtful before voting for him? He didn’t even insult Trump. He just asked you to take a good look. And Trump told him to look out.

Remember that Trump entered this race by saying that McCain is not a war hero. A guy who was shot down, body broken and kept in a POW camp for years. Trump said “I prefer the guys who don’t get caught.” Why did he say that? Not because he meant it or because it was important to say. He said it because he’s a bully and every bully knows that when you enter a new school yard, you go to the toughest most respected guy on the yard and you punch him in the nose. If you are still standing after, you’re the new boss. If Trump is president, he’s not going to change. He’s not going to do anything for you. He’s going to do everything for himself and leave you in the dust.

So please listen to fellow conservatives. But more importantly, listen to Trump. Listen to all of it. Everything he says. If you liked when he said that “torture works” then go look at where he took it back the next day. He’s a fucking liar.

A vote for Trump is so clearly a gut-vote, and again I get it. But add a little brain to it and look the guy up. Because if you vote for him because of how you feel right now, the minute he's president, you're going to regret it. You're going to regret it even more when he gives the job to his son. Because American democracy is broken enough that a guy like that could really fuck things up. That's how Hitler got there. He was voted into power by a fatigued nation and when he got inside, he did all his Hitler things and no one could stop him.

Again, I’m not saying vote democrat or vote for anyone else. If Hilary ends up president it should be because she faced the best person you have and you and I both chose her or him or whoever. Trump is not your best. He’s the worst of all of us. He’s a symptom to a problem that is very real. But don’t vote for your own cancer. You’re better than that.

That's just my view. At least right now. I know I’m not qualified or particularly educated and I'm not right instead of you. I’m an idiot and I'm sure a bunch of you are very annoyed by this. Fucking celebrity with an opinion. I swear this isn’t really a political opinion. You don’t want to know my political opinions. (And I know that I’m only bringing myself trouble with this shit.) Trump has nothing to do with politics or ideology. He has to do with himself. And really I don't mean to insult anyone. Except Trump. I mean to insult him very much. And really I’m not saying he’s evil or a monster. In fact I don’t think Hitler was. The problem with saying that guys like that are monsters is that we don’t see them coming when they turn out to be human, which they all are. Everyone is. Trump is a messed up guy with a hole in his heart that he tries to fill with money and attention. He can never ever have enough of either and he’ll never stop trying. He’s sick. Which makes him really really interesting. And he pulls you towards him which somehow feels good or fascinatingly bad. He’s not a monster. He’s a sad man. But all this makes him horribly dangerous if he becomes president. Give him another TV show. Let him pay to put his name on buildings. But please stop voting for him.

I guess one saving grace is IF trump does get elected and the senate stays Republican he will get blocked harder than obama. Nothing will happen. And if the senate switches democrat? Even fucking better. The president cant just change things willy nilly, look at obamacare, look at gutanamo.

Louie is right, he is dangerous, words can be dangerous and we should be afraid of the portion of this country that actually listens to him. Maybe we shouldve just let the south succeed.... Fuck the union lol

From an outsider point of view, Trump seems like lesser evil, compared to the scary clowns running with him.
Ted Cruz : Crazy warmonger that was Bush's domestic policy adviser.
Rubio : Religious nutcase who'd fit right in with some monarchy of the deserts.

Hilary's a manipulative egomanic. Please vote Sanders.

    Interesting read :

Curious what makes him seem like the lesser evil to you?

Not letting people who follow the second most popular religion in the entire world travel into the US is far beyond the level of religious nutcase anyone else has shown.

Torturing suspected terrorists and killing their families seems a little more like a "warmonger" then Cruz in my opinion. Especially his comments about how the military will follow through with his orders just because he said so even if they feel it's wrong or illegal.

I have never been one to put any political category in the good versus evil realm myself just because both sides usually have bad parts and good parts. But for fucks sake Trump is a fucking lunatic. I could easily see him starting another world war just because someone insults him personally. His ego is astounding and will only grow if he's elected. He's the fucking game show host from The Running Man.

Re: Who would win the Republican presidential nomination...

When I think of Trump, I think of a scene in the film The Dead Zone (sorry, I didn't read the book). I think of when Sheen (Stillson) is flipping out while in the White House and starts WWIII... while Walken (Smith) is holding his hand and having the premonition. It just repeats over and over in my head...

Trump is pandering to the lowest common denominator in this country. Trump has shown some of us (hopefully most of us) that he is the lowest common denominator. It's sad. It's embarrassing. When I think about those who follow the guy, it's like a gut punch. It's this insane isolationist, FTW attitude. It's completely moving backwards.

I mean, Trump has actually been quoting Mussolini for Christ sake. While not Hitler... Mussolini was no less a monster.

If Trump's mindless minions... No, if "WE" have found ourselves in a Santayana quagmire and this is a second coming of the aforementioned, then maybe history will repeat itself to the letter. Let's hope it doesn't. I'm hoping on November 9th we can collectively say "Holy shit, we certainly dodged that bullet" - I guess I'm just hoping cooler heads will prevail.

I have always tried to not judge people based on their political leanings because it just seems so broad and random in general but I just can't see people who like that racist horrible pile of shit the same way anymore. The more horrible the shit he says is the more popular he becomes. It's just insane.

I find it most insane that a man whose wives were immigrants is so against immigration.
And you CAN be reasonable about religious policies without being a complete dickwad. Nobody can deny that there is a fear of Islam in this country, no thanks to the media, of course... But a candidate could quell those fears and say "The Constitution overrides your religious beliefs as long as you're in the USA" rather than a knee-jerk "deport a whole religion!!!11"
But then again, we have GOP'ers who do want to incorporate Christianity into law, so I guess that wouldn't work, would it.

I think we're just fucked. Don't get me wrong, I hold a few conservative views, but the GOP isn't even conservative anymore. They're full-on crazy. Completely anti-science (which in my mind equates to anti-education) and promising war when every war since WWII has been pretty futile. WWII was, at least in my own opinion, necessary for us to get involved in. The Nazis were committing human rights violations on an astronomical scale. Our aid stopped it. We only mucked things up in Vietnam, Korea, and now Iraq/Afghanistan. When are we going to learn that being "police" of the world isn't working in our favor?

Bah. I understand people want change, but moving backwards in progress isn't the answer.

No she's not (not by a fucking longshot), but definitely favor her over the bat shit crazy republican ilk. None of those clowns deserve to be in politics let alone running for the oval office. Personally my vews tend to align with Sanders but that's a lost cause. I mean anyone who gives a fuck about less militant views, isolating ourselves from the world, the environment, corporate greed fucking wages and getting into bed with politicians setting policy is screwed because no candidate that ever reflects these views ever gets elected and if they do republican majority blocks them from doing anything. They're just a bunch of bullies crying in a fucking sandbox. The only republican who seems to give a shit and gets it is Bloomberg.

It's like the civil war all over to be honest. I'd love it if the the northeast/ northern states aligned with the west coast to form a lower case n shape of a country and lets see how the the south/ lower midwest fare by themselves. Of course we'll need to rescue all the progressive people located in these areas first but you can have our backwards nutjobs in exchange

Everyone else running on both sides are saints compared to Trump. There is literally no other choice that would be half as bad as him. The entire race should be about him losing now. Whoever else wins is irrelevant. I don't care if the winner raises taxes or lowers taxes or does what the fuck ever because it's better then a world war with China/Russia/Korea.

really? does Trump run a criminal organization based in Canada so that he doesn't have to disclose their financial records to the IRS? Did Trump set up a private email server to bypass the Freedom of Information act, wipe the emails, & then pretend he didn't understand the question when caught lying about it? Did Trump receive military intelligence about Americans in need of aid & reply to that email asking about taking a fucking personal shopping trip with his personal assistant (who happens to have direct connections to the Muslim Brotherhood organization), literally leaving those government officials to die? You really want the criminals behind the fucking Whitewater scandal running this country? That's progress?

I think we suffer from a chronic lack of strong leadership in this country, and have subsequently found ourselves with a bunch of lousy candidates unfit for the job (call me Captain Obvious).

And I think our ridiculously bipartisan electorate have been eating up all the bullshit they've been fed over the years from self-serving Dems and Republicans, further exacerbating the problem. No middle ground anymore, just a bunch of ill-informed voters foaming at the mouth at opposite ends of a somewhat make-believe spectrum.

Keronia for president 2016. Turn everyone into fucking plant monsters. Problem solved. I'm going to have a whisky.

What I find really stomach turning is to hear GOP members say that Trump is a liar, a fraud, and a conman but that they'll support him if he is nominated. To me this means that they have no respect for America, no true desire to see whats best for us as a country, but rather only the need for the party to win.

These are the same men that constantly tell us the government doesn't work. Well of course it doesn't when you been in the seat for 40 years and you vote only for your team but not for the system.

I wish we could just be rid of every last government official and just start from scratch.

Make America new again. (Should I get that trademarked? It's the American way isn't it? Even to own bits of the English language.)
