go ahead. do it. I want to see what your horror tastes are. I don't think I could ever pick just 5 favorites, but here are some of mine: 1. The Abominable Dr. Phibes 2. Burial Ground 3. Carnival Of Souls 4. Pieces 5. Tales From The Crypt (the Amicus anthology, not the HBO TV show) once again, that's just 5 good ones I can think of.
The Exorcist The Omen The Shining Cabinet of Dr. Caligari Psycho There's overlap with my sci-fi list and horror. i.e. The Thing and Alien could theoretically be labeled horror
It's kind of tough to break it down, but here are 5 that I always enjoy watching: 1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Return of the Living Dead 3. Son of Frankenstein 4. Spider Baby 5. Day of the Beast
dawn of the dead (og version. [remake was a lame joke]) day of the dead dead alive (braindead) evil dead 2 shaun of the dead so i guess zombies?
This is gonna be a hard one. Exorcist Dawn of the Dead Evil Dead Texas Chainsaw Masacre Hey gun, I didn't think the remake was that bad. Why did you hate it?
I liked the remake also. I can't believe so many of you are saying the Exorcist. I think it's probably THE single most overrated horror movie, if not movie in general, of all time.
1. Night of the Living Dead 2. Dawn of the Dead 3. Day of the Dead 4. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 5. Mr. Sardonicus........ (That smile gave me nightmares........)
If you want something more subtle, The Devil's Backbone is a great ghost story. And even more subtle, The Innocents (the early 60's version). And if you want extreme, watch Jennifer on the Master's of Horror. And there is always Audition.
I went with more of the classics. Devil's Backbone is great without a doubt though. If we go into Japanese and Korean Horror there's some amazing stuff I just dont know how it will stand the test of time. Tale of Two Sisters is good Korean horror.
Besides the monster flicks I like more entertaining/creepy ones too Poltegeist Jacobs Ladder Nightmare on Elm St Fright Night Omen
pieces? skyler, for serious? jess... black sabbath suspiria zombie dead alive night of the living dead joe... black sabbath deep red the beyond maniac texas chainsaw runners up/kinda horror battle royale eyes without a face repulsion uzumaki (spiral) and of course psycho
Some good lists here. 1. The Golem (1920) 2. The Borrower 3. Cujo 4. Faust (FW Murnau version) 5. Isle of the Damned
i didn't quite hate it, just thought it was a little too slapstick. i'll admit i loved the shooting contests they had on the roof. the funny thing is that i thought george romero could've made it a lot better. that was until i saw land of the dead. *shudder*
Not a ranking list but each loved equally 1. Hellraiser 2. Alien ( yes it's horror ) 3. The Hills Have Eyes 4. The Ring ( Japanese ) 5. Evil Dead I cant stop at 5. 6. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 7. The Devil's Backbone (I know someone else already mentioned but wow at that film) 8. Shaun of the Dead (funny but I loved it anyway) 9. Cannibal Holocaust (is this considered horror or something else?) 10.Tesis ( Thesis - Spanish ).
1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) 2. Poltergeist 3. Nightmare on Elm Street 4. Dawn of the Dead (original) 5. The Shining

as i love and collect horror movies with animals have to ad: jaws alligator 1980 's ....with robert forster who ruled in jackie brown lake placid .....(adorable bridget & the coolest animated scene: croc vs. bear!!!) tarantula ........(the old one) the ghost and the darkness .....(for a very subtle use of animation. lions been bigger but still lions and no cheesy monsters) and of course polanskis vampires
