holy shit!!!! I love these guys! All the original members? Davey von Bolen in there too? Last I heard he had a brain tumor or something.

    thanks for the info, missy!

It looks like Jade Tree will be releasing the Cap'n Jazz compilation for the first time on vinyl too.

I'm sorry, but my grandmother is more "hardcore" than Cap'n Jazz. I think "emo" is the term you're looking for. And Von Bohlen's fine - he's in an absolutely awful band called Maritime now.

yeah, I don't follow DVB as much. after 30 degrees everywhere, I thought he just got kind of suckier. Nothing Feels Good has memories so I still have it. but Very Emergency--holy moly I thought that was horrible.

I'd put it on every year or so just to see if it'll make sense to me, but it doesn't. it's just bad.

Wood and Water was alright though. I almost forgot about that one. Boys and Girls was cool too.

i went to see maritime at sxsw a few years ago at a day party, and the only good thing was seeing davey singing.

i'd love to see this, but alas no boston show (yet?)

Never got into them, but I did "work" at Underdog Records when their first 7" and compilation track came out. I probably saw at least once or twice too, but can't remember.

Fair enough-but I've abandoned the term "emo" since 17 year old kids with sideswept black hair have ruined it for me. Yes, for us old dudes, I agree its emo, but i avoid the term nowadays.

If you grew up in the midwest, it was kind of a blur. I saw Code 13 play the same show as the promise ring. weird out there.
