Re: A Nag Pa I Root

Just my personal opinion : not kaiju/kaijin = wrong, realistic sculpt = wrong, realistic paint = wrong

Shigeru is free to do anything he likes, but whatever you say, this toy does not belong to the same world as the BG (put aside the collab with LS). And I don't think that if it had been released by anyone else it would get the same attention here.
Now Shigeru can have an in-conditional fanbase as much as for other toy designers and this is fine with me.

Still, I have not seen (and I think will ever see) the toy in person and it may have interesting features (the usual blurry pic does not help to get a good view on it...). For the time being I see absolutely no appeal in this.

I love the new sculpt. It reminds me a little of Kaiju Ken Yamashiro...

Re: A Nag Pa I Root

One of these days you'll be saying the same thing about Shigeru.
Like "Shigeru or Lamour Supreme? I'm done with them......"

Curious if you have either of those figures in your collection, if so, I want to ask you some questions about MJ...

I said it before, this guy will probably look rad, and really he does, but I can get a zombie from Toys R Us for 19.95 that most likely has the same quality control, used 50 masks in their production, for the paint, and has pants that fit... . (Actual mask numbers may vary)

I feel kind of bad hating on other peoples creations, because it is quality, but to me it's not worth the kind of bread that it's going to be sold for (especially since the yen is stomping on the dollars head).

On top everything, knowing that this is what topples the Nag... It's a heart breaker...

Edit: One thing I have to remember that just like everything in life, your not going to, nor should you, love everything that someone else makes. It's very rare that I'll love every song on a LP, or love every issue of Superman, or love every episode of the Simpsons. Why should a toymaker be any different, and really there are most likely a ton of people out there that hated Nags, but will love this.

Yeah maybe, who knows but for the moment I really enjoy shigeru work. Every releases are so full of details and different character.
(Yeah I get frustrated losing the lottery but really like his works)
I always try to stop from this addictive & expensive hobby but failed  .

For the moment I'm done with medicom and hottoys.
Have been collecting 12" Rah for years but disappointed by how they released the same thing over n over again with minor changes.
Followed all the Kamen Rider release(which are my favorite hero since I was a kid), but with new releases then I stop collecting and followed SKULLBRAIN. And turn me to love monster and weird sculpt......

No offense for anyone, just my own experience....

Re: A Nag Pa I Root

release OG nag- everyone flips for it and drops big money-retire nag dude- everyone gets sad-new flavor zombie released- not many people like it- re release Classic Nag! - everyone goes apeshit ( again )

    rinse and repeat.

i think the zombie is cool looking so far ( im not a fan of the clothing) but as everyone else is saying the pricepoint probably wont be worth it.

I think we need to see this without clothes. Imho the threads look a bit lame compared to other 12" figures already mentioned above so I won't insist but without seeing the body sculpt I can't really comment... having said that I'm not a big fan of the head, a real step back compared to BG and especially compared to Nagballs. I remember someone announcing this was supposed to be next level shit (Lamour perhaps?), what exactly makes it next level? The hidden package? ;)
Any price tag attached to this?

Im not necessarily into figures with clothing, but im also not used to nude zombies, i just don't see them often, anyone else? And I would hope the threads are lame compared to the other 12" figures out there, if they were in line with them then I would think they are lame : P

A naked zombie would have lots of potential. Seems like there's a lot of detailed grossness running up its arms and ankles. Time for a striptease!

I think he would look the most rad topless with just severed pants similar to what he has on

Love the eye but have to admit that I prefer the old Genjin sculpt.
Maybe I will change my mind after seeing him personally like I did for nagball.
Before I was not sure if it's the best effort from shigeru but when I got it in hand, it's turn out to be as good as the previous sculpt.
I'm pretty sure this time will be same.
Lets wait and hope someone post it naked :D .......

How much are you guys paying for these? $150-$200? Because if you want I'll go down to the local toy store, buy some dolls, mess them up real good (aka zombify) and do if for say $100 with bonus free shipping

Re: A Nag Pa I Root

Lol people keep referring to this basically being obtainable at a Toys R Us etc.. I have seen plenty of zombie figures, and so far none like this and no im not saying this is the best zombie figure ever, and no one even knows the price.

I think quite a few people might say you can find "dino" toys or other shit similar to what a lot of us are into for a dime a dozen so that really doesn't hold weight in our fucked up world of crazy price toys where 5 inch figures start at $60.
