Good thing nothing on the "Trade Bait" thread is highly coveted…. that would be lame??

if i had a Nag I would most likely trade for a Bemon, is that lame?

Yes, they are your toys. Go read the FAQ, if you don't like how the guys, who keep this board up for us to use, want to run things go hang out at KR. Trade flipping is flipping, period. It has the exact same effect on other collectors as monetary flippers, in some ways even worse. If you haven't read Brian Flynn's post about flipping and acceptable behavior here, then why are you even on this board?

no, you are wrong, you can do whatever you want with your toy but NOT on this board. Joining SB means abiding by certain ethics that apparently many newer members have not learned yet. Here is a great read for those that think trade flipping is acceptable on SB. Pay close attention to #1

Flipping doesn't suck because you make money off it. It sucks because it's predatory, opportunistic and selfish. Ask Atease how he felt being offered the Ju 2 pack the day it landed. Ask Dybukim how it felt to see a Mishka camo Zag go up the day it landed. It sucks and as a collector, you should get that.

    wow
    so confused…

okay… if get a toy in hand and it doesn't get my motor going the way I had hoped, I have to what a certain amount of time to trade it to someone who has a toy they don't want?
    my head hurts

For the record,I would trade any toy in my collection for a bemon.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root

If you had gone and read what we suggested you would have seen that in that instance, selling for what you paid is the right thing to do (on SB at least). Using said toy as leverage to advance your own collection with no regard for those who missed out is lame. It's really not that complex. If we are talking about a toy with a relatively large run size and people had a decent shot at it, then it doesn't matter because you are trading to trade and people will not feel compelled to give up things that are still of great value to them. When only 10 of something are made and incredible luck is needed to score one, then it takes on a much different face and that's were it becomes highly opportunistic and selfish. Entering a lotto or going after a micro run should be because you like the toy and wan't to keep it, not because if you win you can trade for something you actually want. This instance shouldn't really come up much unless you are just entering every lotto and going after every micro run for the hell of it. So in that instance, it's greatly appreciated and respected to pass it along in a sale for a reasonable price. Please go read Brian's post on flipping.

i like #2 more, i pre-order some toys, after received. i found not my cup of tea. then offer them on the boards first in case someone may want them. if NOT, then it wl going to somewhere it belong to :D

also, i check other people want, i part something i hv to them.
for trade or sell. that is :)

Not trying to get into the argument at all, but I was searching the board for "RFSO" a few days ago, and came across this post from Rich back in 2006. Obviously he's talking about selling, not trading, but when I saw this post it made me laugh thinking about how often flipping / selling practices / trade flipping gets brought up around here lately:

I don't think I was trying to be right or wrong. But to b specific, I was addressing the issue at hand. he stated he didn't like the figure so he would've traded it. then of course that sparked an on going discussion(which I fed into  ). The figure was pretty much a Blind bag, so he's suppose to keep it because it is wrong to trade it? I see the ethics behind the rule but some people police these issues to hard.

it's simple in my book if you seen touched and analyzed a figure, and you don't like it. then why join the lotto for the figure? to trade flip? Thats messed up. But if you never seen a figure and decided to see what the "HYPE" is about. And once the figure arrived you decided it's not your thing. then what? your stuck with the figure because it's not ethical or your suppose to go back alley out of an old truck to trade it? so that no one notices and your not frowned upon?

You are not stuck with it, the "right" thing to do would be to sell it for what you paid for it.

I've actually given toys away if I'm not into them. But that would make us a community of 10 if we decided to be that naive.

I guess theres no win. Only thing I see right is pretty much what slack corrected me on if your part of the SB community play by the rules they appointed it's the only morally correct thing to do.

    so…

Is the siamese Nag out of production? If not i'd like to see more.
What do the bottom of the Nag Balls look like? Can they be attached to the bootleg body or are they just placed on top in all those pictures?

Re: A Nag Pa I Root

I won this lottery and your are damn right I would have sold it at cost plus shipping had I not liked it. Not because I am morally righteous but because I believe in toy ethics and this community. I have been helped out with great deals by far more than 10 board members already so I am not sure what you are getting at. I actually learned my toy ethics at KR but soon found people there preached them but did not live by them themselves (a few exceptions of course). Coming here I have been treated very well by the forum members both in terms of knowledge, advice and great help/deals. Selling something like a NAG to an awesome board member who has never been able to score one would be a win if you value them like I do. I'm not special, or amazing or anything else. I do however see the value of the system in place here when it is followed.

"We had a really great thing going on for a while, where people steadily moved through new product that they did not like, passing it along to other board members at a retail price. This encouraged this behavior and allowed everyone to jump start their collections and try different items out without fear. The point of collecting is to buy toys that you like, regardless of value. Hopefully they will all acrue value. But, if you buy toys simply by the perceived dollar signs attached to them you will not only burn yourself, but others as well." - Brian Flynn

Re: A Nag Pa I Root

Sorry if I misunderstood, I was just trying to say that it isn't an ego or morals thing. I see it as a system that will reward all who play by the intent of the rules. I just hope people can get what they want through everyone being great board members instead of feeling like they have to trade flip to track down their wants. I will shut it. TOYS RULE!
