From my experience, just a couple of hours at most.

However, I once e-mailed them late at night, stating that I wanted to raise my maximum bid on something. The next morning rolls around and I get a "Sorry, went to bed early, that auction ended and you didn't win" e-mail since my higher bid wasn't taken into account. Word of advice, you might want to give them a call if it's something pretty important. I learned that the hard way and it sucked.

Just pay the fee and go Gold. It's totally worth it.

I tried for gold and they said we should do business together for a month then they'd upgrade me (for a fee). Apparently they want references which I'm too lazy to deal with.

Basically atm I use CELGA basic on uncontested stuff and Rinkya if I really need to bid competitively.
