Adobe Browser Lab This just launched today and, as a web designer / programmer going on nearly 15 years of web-work, I can honestly say that my prayers have finally been answered! This is an online browser emulator so you can check out your site, email newsletter....whatever...in multiple browsers and on multiple OS! For example, this week I had a problem with a page that was rendering properly in all browsers except for IE6. major pain in the ass stuff - with this I was able to do a 2-up view and check IE6 (Win XP) and Safari 2.0 side by side in a Firefox window. Major huge news. Now you don't have to have all of the various browsers on your system to check out a page renders out. There's even an .mxp add-on for Dreamweaver CS4. After years and years of cross-browser issues web workers can finally check out their pages without having multiple browsers installed. Sweet
hmmm. color me skeptical still. I've seen tools that supposedly emulate different browsers to various degrees of success. I will have to give it a go though, if it works well it could really make my job easier
<--designer that hardly knows any web stuff i gotta get learnin! (now that i have no job...grumblegrumble) this sounds cool though
Here are some really helpful sites: Adobe TV tons of video tutorials Flash / ActionScript tutorials Flash / Actionscript tutorials Also check out the designer / developer sections on Adobe - there's a ton of great content and projects. Dreamweaver is pretty essential, but you can get Textpad for free and it's a great app. Honestly, though, my background is Fine Arts. I finished up my master's studies and had to self-teach myself everything I know by just figuring out the code and reading, reading, reading.
Their landing page loads with a scroll bar at the bottom of the page. I have to scroll right to read about how great their software is. FAIL!
