Airbrush water problems and compressor question.
Alright, so today I had a shit load of water in my lines and fucked up a toy I was clear coating. I was wondering if anyone had any tips to stop this from happening. I have a water trap on my compressor but I dunno what the deal is.

Also, my tip was getting very clogged from MK clear coat and not much would come out, kinda sputtered. which led to me spraying a very long time which caused a ton of water in my lines. What's a good suggestion for tip size for MK clear and can I switch my iwata hp-bc tips out or if I got a trigger gun would I need a bigger compressor than my silent guy.

    any help is greatly appreciated!

MK will spray fine through a small tip. The clogging/sputtering may have been caused by water already accumulating even sooner than you realized.

I would check all the connections of your hose, as well as the moisture trap itself. I have a trap, but had water come through all of a sudden one day... look down the hose, and realize I put a big crack in the bell of my moisture trap moving it one day, so I had to do a little DIY repair with some black electrical tape to seal it back up.

everytime I spray it through a small tip though, it sputters out mostly and I have to go very slow with it. Maybe I have my stop set to close and I'm not pulling back enough for it? but I'm pretty sure my connections are good. I also dont have a trap on my line. Just on the compressor.

I sprayed the bottom half of a pocket toy and then half way through the top half it starts spitting water like crazy and then it was like more water was spraying on the toy than clear coat.

i run a trap on my compressor, and a iwata pistol grip trap on the agtual brush... i get no more water... also if some water blows out while clearing or painting, just blast it with the heat gun and it should evaporate it, and smooth out your clear... if your using a small needle, and just back out out a few mm to open the nozzle up... wont be a precise spray, but you'll get heavy coverage fast without clogging or sputtering..

I think my MK clear after it's sat for a long time, but a fresh batch will spray fine straight out of the bottle.

Thanks Ben, I guess that's probably the problem. I'm near the end of the bottles and I hadnt had problems getting through 1 or two toys before. But now I barely got through a pocket globby. I'll try thinnning it and give it a go.
