Re: Anraku Photos! Made to order AA? Who wants to collect something they can easily acquire for retail? Seriously though, that second Goga with the sorta vintage color palette is especially beautiful. So it looks like the dragons' names are "Blue Sea Dragon Ryuukisei" and "Flame Red Dragon Garachion" and the pink guy is Pokopon the tanuki. I didn't really see him as a tanuki, but I'll assume he has a stripy tail.
Re: Anraku Photos! I enjoyed the interview even through the crap online translation. I feel like I picked up some cool tidbits here and there.
Re: Anraku Photos! Both Goga's are stunning, I'm really struggling between the two for which I prefer. Would love to read a better translation of the interview, anyone out here care to translate? Fingers crossed this goes the way we are hoping and everyone has some new AA on their shelves in 2015.
Re: Anraku Photos! I posted in this topic over three years ago wishing that I could just see a Goga in person someday, let alone own one. And now it's looking like not only will it be possible to own one, but we'll have a chance to decide which one of two to buy at retail! Right now the green is winning out for me, but the blue is all-around great as well.
Re: Anraku Photos! This is the most wonderful toy news I've read in a long time. It's hard to believe I might finally have a chance to see a Goga in my collection, much less two! It was heartbreaking to read about this gentlemen's condition-seems there was a legitimate reason for the lack of volume in production in the past (my apologies if this was common knowledge as I was completely unaware). This makes the aftermarket prices which were catalyst for the spike all the more shameful. Based on what I understood of the interview (as BrickBat stated, poor translation using a tool), he seems like an interesting human. I'm happy to hear that regardless of life's obstacles he's been able to achieve what he has and span his art across various forms of media as he saw fit, and continue to do so!
Re: Anraku Photos! I really enjoyed his little animations and I did not know they were preceding the toys. Interesting interview indeed. The release seems too good to be true, I'll wait for the real order page to get really happy. If true, this is the most enthusiastic news about this hobby for a looooong time.
Re: Anraku Photos! I don't think a lot of this info was common knowledge at all. I am very happy to know quite a bit more about my favorite toy maker. It sounds as if he actually does much of the sculpting himself (at least the prototypes? anybody clarify?) if I'm reading this correctly, something I had conflicting info on before. All the more impressive. Also very happy to know he has been able to get his Parkinson's Disease under control. I hope he is with us and making animations and toys for a long, long time.
Re: Anraku Photos! ??? Pick up japanese if u love this hobby folks Seems like he is even more mystified after the google translated interview
Re: Anraku Photos! I like that the veil is being lifted on one of the more mysterious Japanese makers. So many stories floating around out there. Nice to hear something directly from him. The animations are excellent and add a whole other level. Makes me appreciate the toys that much more.
Re: Anraku Photos! Very exciting. I can't help but be a little apprehensive as this, it just seems to good to be true. I'm waiting for the regular Medicom lottery route and having my hopes crushed.
Re: Anraku Photos! Does anybody know when medicom will have these AA's toys on line?...I going to shit my pants
Re: Anraku Photos! So I just filled out an order form and payed for my Goga, Apart from having to re-enter my phone number 5 times that was too easy. Still paranoid.
Re: Anraku Photos! ^^ Same here, I'm still afraid I'll wake up at any moment. If my payment actually gets booked I think I'll start going nuts.
Re: Anraku Photos! TOO EASY! I went for the green. Both are handsome though. What'd everyone else opt for?
Re: Anraku Photos! Lulubell has them for even less than Rotofugi! http://www.lulubelltoys.com/collections ... -pre-order http://www.lulubelltoys.com/collections ... -pre-order
Re: Anraku Photos! Since they are readily available, does that mean everyone will start bbq-ing them?
Re: Anraku Photos! Anyone else get a 55 Blue/Hawaii vibe from these two? I know they are not an obvious homage but I'm seeing it.
Re: Anraku Photos! Both look great to me, but I dig the blue one a little more. Great to have the month-long order period... everyone who wants one can have one. How awesome of AA and Medicom <3
Re: Anraku Photos! Ordered the green from Lulubell. My eye was immediately drawn to the green, but seeing them both in person at SDCC it was a very tough choice. I can't believe you can order both !
