So I grabbed both drill and regular arms from this offering. This is one character I've been very excited to see. My rule too is if its the same toy with different parts it counts as a different toy and I can get both. Although I kind of blew it by not getting clear goga, looking back, the guts are a new part. Sooooo, if anyone "isn't feeling it"
I'm sure there are enough of these that the secondary prices will not be crazy. Patience will be rewarded for those that missed the initial pre order. That being said, it really is a beautiful paint in person
Was there a Medicom Nue yet? I know Cambodia and Nue share a body, and we did get a Cambodia... EDIT: My bad, there was a yellow Nue. No wonder I didn't remember, I'm not a huge fan of yellow.
Kinda wishing the Guerilla Punch had more of a red vibe to it rather than the muddy brown, but still like it. Almost has a vague native (for lack of a better word) feel to it IMO, ivory tusks, subtle gold and green which is okay. I just think a more vibrant red with white accents would have worked better IMO.
So the giant Mamaregon and Cambodia are next up. They look pretty good, especially the Mamaregon. But expensive again. At this rate, it seems that its only a matter of time before Drunk Boy comes!
Those are the two I've been most excited for, now to start saving! The colors are all I could hope for.
They are worth the expense. They are huge. I really don't have much in my collection that compares size-wise. Only toys like giant M-1s are arguably bigger. If you are a jumbo collector, obviously disregard this. But in terms of neo kaiju they are healthy beasts!
Any photos? Giant?! Edit: ahhh I have no room for things like dinos I have to be more discerning. I think at this point I will be saving for a drunk boy as well and hoping I can pick up more of the previous releases while I wait..
For people with less space, the tails can be removed and they display well without them, if you keep them facing forward.
I'm not familiar with the Mameregon sculpt, but the actual sculpting of the head is just beautiful. The little wrinkles under the eye, the swooping back of the horns... Even the colors are magic. I did a bit of digging out of convenience for you all, each of these are approx 11in/28cm long (wowza, shelf hogs) and 19,440yen ($177 as of right now) with tax included. My heart says yes, but my brain says no. Oh Mameregon, will we ever meet?
And therein lies the problem... When you have enough money for either a Mameregon OR a Drunk Boy, what do you do? I guess I shouldn't be complaining, the exclusivity of Anraku has pretty much disappeared with these Medicom pre-orders. The prices are still pretty hefty. Yet the vinyl is hefty too! With all these releases coming so fast, I'm sure quite a few of us are making or will be making some pretty tough decisions.
Well, if you think about the fact that we have a preorder that is still up for the remainder of the month and then probably these next two for next month if not longer you have quite awhile to set aside money for a Drunk Boy, even if you decide to get a mamerdino or whatever now. Obviously everyone's financials are different so I'm basically just speaking for myself and what I hope is a future situation (I'll just be saving for any non-dino Giant's and a drunk boy at this point anyway) ... : Having just received a Glutamine from the Medicom releases and not realizing they are almost completely without points of articulation these giant releases are all I can hope for.
For people with less space, like myself, these giants can be hung on walls. Some clear fishline and a sturdy hook or two and they look spectacular mounted on a wall IMO. Acquired taste, I'm sure...
You got me curious, I was pretty sure they were longer so I just measured my Mama. She is about 17.5 inches long, give or take half an inch from snout to tail tip. 11 inches is about right for the head/body only. My dumb ass also chipped the paint on the head a little in the measuring process. I am in the wrong hobby to be such an effing clutz.
Huh, that's interesting because I took the measurements right from sofvi.tokyo, but I guess they don't think tails are that important. And aww, poor Mama. It's okay, it's just "well-loved" now.
I can't tell if you're being serious, or trying to troll noobs. I guess I'd need to see a picture of this to visualize it.
Again there are size discrepancies. This really concerns me. I've seen and held some OGs in person, and they are massive. To me, that is part of their charm (and what helps to justify the price, in my eyes). If these Medicom issues are scaled down versions, that would suck. And it makes me question whether to drop so much on them. A 17.5 inch figure is easily worth $200. An 11" long one counting tail (essentially a standard sized figure)? Maybe not so much, IMO.
