Anyone ever successfully polish/shine the brass eyes on a Ggml Hedoran without damaging the paint on the toy? My marbled orange/black smashface eyes are super tarnished… I’d like to shine it up, but I also don’t want to mess it up in the process. I’m thinking brasso, or maybe a jewelry polishing cloth? Any experience in this topic?
Wow, I never thought about the eyes tarnishing. I’m thinking maybe some jewelry cleaner and a q-tip for accurate cleaning?
No experience specifically on a Ggml toy, or any toy for that matter; however, I have polished vintage brass cased watches with a white vinegar / salt mix. That may be safer to use around paint than chemical cleaners? I would assume you’ll first have to ascertain whether they are actually brass or is just a finish? if it is, there are tons of links on the net and here is a list of a few options, of which I have only tried the vinegar/salt/flour one. https://www.countryliving.com/home-maintenance/cleaning/g28483397/how-to-clean-brass/
That would be my question as well. I think it would make Gargamel even cooler if they are Brass, but most likely these eyelets are not.
I will do some investigating. Maybe I’ll just throw caution to the wind and try to shine up ole smashface’s eyes.
