Fake Baron pachi in your face! You can't get pachi-er than this, love it. Medicom and Lulubell are taking pre-orders for this fella. According to Lulubell its by Awesome Toy, a HK based company but this toy is made in Japan?!!! I would love a Made in Hong Kong fake toys from the olden days but to have this made in Japan is kinda neat. This guy seems to takes reference from the old menko cards with all the pachi heroes. Interesting figure. Cool looking sculpt.

When I saw this it was an instant want. Unfortunately I'm quite poor for now. I think it's the goofy proportions or the boyish face, but I really like this one.
This is gonna be a great figure. I hope it comes out in all sorts of different color schemes--the simplicity and cleanliness of the design would really lend to nice, vibrant primary colors...
LOVE this figure... wish I had the funds to buy it now. Also, that uncut sheet of cards is framable IMO, haha!
To me, there doesn't seem to be any articulation at the legs either, but I am also not sure the waist is even jointed. Sure does affect this guys playability - you know, for people who like that kind of thing in toys. I really want to get in on this pre-order but that seems like an obvious (and extremely unfortunate) oversight.

The illustration with blue clouds is really good too. It'll be great if those menko cards reference are somehow incorporated into the packaging.
Can't see them going through so much effort in producing and marketing the product just for a single run. So I hope for a black baron, I think would be quite cool
Yeah, and "Fuck the USA" is engraved on the bottom of one of the feet. So screw these guys..... And yet...I'm somehow intrigued...
Well colour me corrected and extremely impressed and elated. This is going on the 'definite' list now. I love the boot design and was thinking it would be a great toy even as is. A few menko cards included would be the perfect addition to this toy. I would love the idea of randomly inserted ones we could trade around. Couldn't be that hard to knock together some repros I am thinking, given the relatively cheap quality of the normal menko cardstock.
I also might as well post up this excellent illustration of Fake Baron by Michael. It has his own great style, but also would fit right in with some menko monsters.
Medicom made this available to us, but I hesitated in posting it here for pre-orders just because I can't ever seem to make the minimums and get stuck with extra figures... Crap, had I known I could have helped out.
