All I can say is that if this clear Bemon is the one that was at Shibuya Mandarake with a "Not for Sale" sign for a couple months I can tell why he didn't put a picture up with it... thing looks like it spent a few years in a cigarette testing plant (yeeeeeeellow).
thats not such a bad thing for a pollution monster. Im surprised someone hasnt done a pre stained clear toy yet. Howsabout you Ricki? I'll come out of my buying hiatus for a custom sun aged bechigon.
Hehe... I saw these resin rings in a clothes shop a couple weeks back that had cigarette butts and little scraps of paper and garbage in them and they were kind of cool, to be honest. Just wait the special Damien Hirst Bechigon... two guesses what it'll be filled with!
Don't tell anyone, but when I send a figure out, I replace the original staples with my own, and keep the others in a box!
Great discussion. As much as I hate it stealth is right, buying from a flipper is often the only way to obtain certain figures. What is the alternative? Basically not having that figure you've been looking for forever? I look at my small collection and everything I've purchased on YJA. I know, especially with the newer things like Shikaruna, I'd never have any of those without someone buying them up at a show for resale. When you get new items on YJA you're almost always getting the item flipped. Having said that though, I'm definitely not down with what I call "double flipping". These are assholes who wanna be flippers but don't do any real work. Hey if you went down to the festival, waited in line, finally got to buy that figure and flip it reasonably above cost on YJA so someone like me can score one, hell I don't mind paying extra. BUT if you didn't do any of that and just bought it on YJA like anyone of us could and then flip it for triple the cost, you're scum. In the end you just have to use your own best judgement to see what the best price would be for something you want. Spend enough time on YJA and you'll realize how often things come up or not.
i would be careful about discerning between perceived ethical & non-ethical flip purchases on yja..or anywhere for that matter.. you should really take it at face-value,,that you are purchasing something on the secondary market for an inflated rate.... most of the festival items sold on yja are acquired through "insider" dealer passes who get first shot at all the items (completely cutting off any normal person who may have been queueing for hours) or by paying off homeless to wait in the queue... neither of these practices can be seen as hard-earned work... just a thought....... i am not saying buying flipped items is inherently bad,,,it is a necessary evil in many cases....
If there were an organization of flippers that included artists using the skullbrain forum as just a place to ditch toys they couldn't sell for inflated prices one ebay/yja, would you want to know who they are?
That is why I set spending limits for items on YJA or will only buy items on the skullbrain sales forum from members I trust. In my entire collection I think there are only 3 items I overpaid for (by setting too high celga bids) Flippers here are pretty easy to spot.
