...warning everyone - the hip hop community will find out about "kaws toys" soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgjAuvMty98 and i can tell they have lots of cash - saw em buy the bathing ape apparel @ busy workshop nyc ...not much left. hope they wont like the japanese vinyl.
There's a Munny (or whatever) in the movie ATL in T.I.'s bedroom. I think it's all I remember from that movie.
Fuck, that is shitty. Good for Kaws, really bad for collectors. Maybe they will buy all his stuff, and then be over it like 3 months later, and then tons will pop up on ebay for cheaper than now? Wishful thinking.....
Meh. I only need a few pieces anyway and I'm not particularly motivated to get them until he releases something new that has some feeling or passion in it that I can detect. Edit: No 99s, no 5YLs, no Chums, no Accomplices, not even the Glitter Twins in that video wtf.
I think the intention was more "There could be a big influx of people trying to get these" not "There are "those kind" of people trying to get these." At least that's how I read it.
kanye. chi-town reprazent. i hope all them hip hopsters eat up all your spensive toys ya'll so insular its sickening. "wait til i get my money right"
Kanye seems to have passed on the "spensive" KAWS toys so far, frankly his collection is weak atm if thats all he has. Even if I get motivated about KAWS work again I'm not particularly concerned about this.
Disgraces me hes from Chicago, someone needs to write him and remind him hes not God. He looks like a newborn in a baby's room.
I think Frank was joking, besides, "Hip Hop people" are hardly defined by race. Actually its more of an ageist thing, as in "people my age" just don't get it. So, are you being ageist? Next week's shock headline: KR Kids in overt discrimination on Jp Vinyl forums!
different strokes for different folks. don't take it personally. it's all image. prolly a dash of satire to top it off. I take pride in all the chi has to offer. in fact, I just got back from The Ponys, Mountain Goats, and Superchunk show at the Metro.... it rawked! "do not pass me just to slow down..."
Kanye West had the stones to say what needed to be said after hurricane Katrina and I respect him for it. I don't particularly like his music and his KAWS collection needs Glitter B!tches at a bare minimum though. But Kanye"s got the guts to say stuff that needed saying and could maybe get you Gitmoized (I'd put nothing past this Administration) and deserves respect for it imo.
It's more like his nerdy buddy who figures out everything for him picked up all the cool stuff with kanye's platinum card. Then he sits back and is all like "Ohhhh yeh murakami, that's right it's the fendi trunk. I also keep my balls incased in a special hand painted kaws x bape box; limited to 10 pieces."
