I brought this up to management. But not much is gonna happen, they will fix it, but there will always be a risky railing. The things is no one is supposed to be hanging out on there. So I’ve always said at your own risk. In all fairness I wouldn’t ever lean on a railing on any fire escape, because by design they are always exposed to elements even worse here in the east with the seasons. Plus this is an obvious very old building. So I turn a blind eye to this, but the next step is to just not let people hang out on there. Unless you all can just use common sense and not lean on rusted railings three floors up in an old factory building...
^^^^ At your own risk is fine and dandy until someone falls to their death... then you get sued. This is a litigious country we live in my friend, you should proceed with caution.
This is also why I pay for my own insurance above what the building provides. Im fully aware legalities go above me saying please don’t go out there.
