So I may not be the only one looking into board games.. and I really like organized reference lists.. so from everyone's suggestions I've compiled this thing. A Game of Thrones Arkham Horror Ascension Axis and Allies Bang! Carcassonne Cards against humanity Chez Geek Cosmic Encounter Cthulhu Gloom Cutthroat Caverns Descent Diplomacy Dominion Elder sign Eldritch Horror Epic Spell Wars Formula D Ghost Stories Boss Monster Give Me the Brain Grave Robbers From Outer Space Hacker Illuminati Jungle Speed King of Tokyo Munchkin Mwahahaha Pathfinder Quarriors Race for the Galaxy Rampage Red Dragon Inn Relic Ricochet Robots Risk Runebound Settlers of Catan Small World Survive Ticket to Ride Takenoko Talisman Ankh Morpork Discworld Board Game Zombies!!! Zombicide
You've listed some good ones already, so I don't have a lot of additional recommendations. Really depends a lot on the people coming over, and how much time you have (and the level of patience/non-agressiveness ) of the players. You know you are playing a great game when at some point in the evening there is very heated 'discussions.' And when it comes to teams, well, you can increase that by a factor. And if it's couples..... well, certainly expect a fight or two.
Zombies!!! Grave Robbers From Outer Space Illuminati Descent: Journeys in the Dark How is your Warhammer army coming along?
as much fun I had watching you guys play. I think for now i'll just be a spectator. It did peak my interest in board games though!
i'm just going to throw in more games ive been seeing/watching reviews on / other suggestions Kings of Tokyo Rampage Takenoko Terry Pratchett Ankh Morpork Discworld Board Game Cards against humanity A game of thrones candy land axis and allies elder sign pathfinder smallworld formula D
You can actually download all of the cards for free for cards against humanity at their site http://cardsagainsthumanity.com/ . They even give helpful advice as to how to have them printed. While it is a great party game, it does get a little stale after you've seen all of the cards multiple times. At least they keep making expansions for it. I know that King of Tokyo, Takenoko, Discworld, Small World, and Elder Sign are all excellent games. Couple of other games to look into: Mwahahaha Epic Spell Wars Ascension Quarriors Cthulhu Gloom Hacker Chez Geek Red Dragon Inn Give Me the Brain And if you have a whole day to kill... Descent OR Arkham Horror (and if your a masochist, use all the expansions! )
Cutthroat Caverns , Cosmic Encounter , Ghost Stories (co-op + hard to win) , Runebound, Eldritch Horror .... Also check out boardgamegeek for a wealth of info / pictures / etc. on just about every board game ever made.
I saw this on BoardGameGeek website. I haven't played it but I like the theme: GODZILLA: KAIJU WORLD WARS will recreate all the action with the kaiju of the famous Toho (licensed) movies. Kaiju will battle kaiju . . .and humans . . . to destroy cities and each other. The game uses a unique Battle Card system to resolve combat. The first game will include Godzilla, Gigan, Rodan and King Ghidorah.
Dang it! Now I wish that I had some friends there were more of you all down here in OK so we could have game nights.
i've also been watching a bunch of Tabletop on the Geek and Sundry youtube channel. It's pretty entertaining. that Wil Wheaton...
These are the ones that are either really popular with my group or I enjoy but they haven't gotten much table time yet.
