Hey - I bought a skull kun and ko off the bay from an HK seller named benbenchu (AKA bbctoys AKA Wai Ling Lau) awhile back and they were fake. The paint job is what tipped me off right away. I called him on it and he swore stupidity but refunded my money no problem and told me to keep the figs, which I gave to my 7 year old. The right foot of each is marked with an impressed rectangle containing "Bounty Hunter" in larger script on the top line. The second line is the copyright symbol follwed by "1997 Bounty Hunter TOYS, Inc." and the bottom line is "made in China" The whole thing is slightly fuzzy like a remold maybe. No laser numbering anywhere, and I don;t think Ko made her first appearance until 2002 so a 1997 date seemed fishy too. Hope this helps, but maybe someone with the real deal can help more.

I have a regular Skull Kun and Skull Ko set and they do say 1997 on them, I am pretty sure that just means when BxH was started. My left foot has a laser number on it though and I don't know what you mean by "a bit fuzzy" because mine looks perfectly clear. So how much did you pay for that set on Ebay? I know I have seen them on there and they were really cheap!!!!!! That is a good indacator that they are fake!!!!!!!

Oh by the way I have a couple BxH figures I am looking to sell if anyone is interested PM me and we can talk. thanks

    haha, good call vga

yeah, a really cheap price is a good sign of knock off

i've heard that those figures are commonly bootlegged. i'd be pretty hesitant before i chose to buy any.

Alifeintoys - those look like much better paint than the fake ones I bought. The lack of numbers on the feet though - I don't know about that.

    VGA -
the words impressed on the bottom of the feet just don't look crisp on the fakes. Not fuzzy like a sweater but as in "not sharp." Yours probably don't look like that because they're real?

I think I paid $90 for the set, lol. That was back when I was really stupid - now I'm just dumb. Not as bad as the only other fake I've bought off eBay - a $700 piece of Italian ceramic. Got my money back for that one too, but ended up paying return shipping and some bank fees so I lost about $80. I will no longer do wire transfers to sellers in Italy, that's for sure!
