I think it's a cool collaboration but the pink eyes and trademark BxH lumps on the top of the head throw it off for me. Lovin' the 2-tone BxH body but (IMO) retaining the classic JJ pear shaped head would have helped define it as a King Ken derivative. S'nice but I won't be crying if I don't snag it . . .
Well, now you're damning with faint praise - Though I admit I don't like the recent Kubrick (?) Alien either, and that seemed to be a hit. I'm assuming this is KK-sized, not Kun-sized. I'm sorta with Scary on this one - Would have been better without the BXH 'head lumps,' the fangs and red eyes were enough. On this figure the lumps, especially with the white paint ... well, I keep seeing this -
So glad I never started collecting the BxH... more power to the die hards... pesonally I think this looks retarded compared to a giant black or silver mekaru kun...
I collect alot of BxH and a few Amos, but I'm undecided about this. Would probably need to see one up close. To me, the Kaws Kuns are stronger pieces.
A bounty hunter figure with a bouffant and its nails done? This thing looks like it was smoking mary jane while kicking it at a beauty parlor back in the 50's.
I actually think if this is standard Kun size, it's gonna be tough to get...if it's King Ken size it won't be nearly as cool... I think because of the way the pics are shot it's impossible to see scale...and scale is everything with this it seems...if it's too big the lumps on the head are just not gonna work, so methinks it may be smaller than a KK... or it should be if it isn't.
Ah, OK - Then L was correct, and I was wrong ... again ... I am a little bit surprised though, somehow I had thought of it as a 'BXH version' of a KK, but at 7" it's the opposite - more a 'KK version' of a Kun. It would still be nice to see some pics that show scale - It's not a problem for familiar items, but for new sculpts pics with zero size cues are tough.
Hehehe... he looks like a gorilla wearing a novelty butt hat on his way to go trick-or-treating. But this is coming from a guy who bought both Marmit Zags, so take that with a grain of salt.
well... i'lll get one on ebay or yja if it is for a good price. otherwise i'll wait Bounty Hunter released their allocation of Skull King Kun earlier today and sold out immediately. Amos will release their limited allocation later in the summer. But first there will be a very limited amount on sale at San Diego Comic-Con in July. So be patient and stay off ebay!
Honestly I don't think this does justice to King Ken or Skull Kuns, I've never really been a big Skull Kun fan though.
i'm assuming amos toys.. but i don't recall them ever having a booth (and their stuff is usually manufactured and sold by strangeco i think)
