I'm with you on this one skylar. Granted I did post a boring picture of my pollard on my desk a month ago, there were some other figures in there I figured people might be interested in that aren't so new. For me, I lost seeing the vintage photos because more often than not I haven't seen them before and it urges me to do some research on the show/figures. make it interesting...be grumpy sometimes...and the most important rule of all : be a little more light-hearted.
Any fleshsack with a bundle of cash and a digital camera can post pics of the latest, greatest new toy that most everyone bought. It's not special, it's not exciting, it's not even bragging. 'yo check it' 'yeah, i got one too' Sadly, show off threads are like taking your hotrod to the burger joint on friday night. There's gonna be some rad cars there, but there will always be a couple shitty stock 'hotrods' that everyone has seen a million times. You gotta pay attention to the great cars and hope the owners of the lame cars learn a thing or two and start to understand what it's all about. Negativity aside, collecting is about putting a group of things together that have a common thread. I really like seeing collections or interesting groupings that have some sort of significance. Even if it's not something I collect, I identify with the pursuit and can dig it. I also really love photo stories; the Bako one made me smile a lot. I can't say I LOVE photos of damnedrons erupting from a person's pants, but that too made me smile.
I always think that is the lesbian name for Philly when people say it. and yes, philadelphians are assholes. its true, there is no brotherly love or sisterly affection here.
I think Sky has a point...Skullbrainers should have some taste and style....this aint KR kiddyland if it something common and already seen many times ...at least take good creative shots .Like Koji's (and others..I forgot who)outdoor shots or Lwords RXH shots...I hate rules, but its a good suggestion but no need for a rule
I have never ever posted a Showoff photo on Skullbrain. Fact is, I don't have a toy collection. I only pretend to have one so I can sit at the cool kids table in the cafeteria at lunch time.
i think there is something about us pennsylvanians, we are all evil at heart maybe it has to do with the extreme temperatures.
I think it's just a bitterness thing. especially the tri-state area. it's cramped, it's dirty, it's competetive, etc. we're not like all those lousy California hippies philly is known for it's attitude. it's like the whole city has a chip on its shoulder.
I would think that pennsylvanians wouldn't last a week in Boston. Talk about bitter cold jaded motherfuckers. I'm surrounded by them. Pennsylvania is Frank Lloyd Wright Fallingwater country, yes?
yeah, but the whole state isn't like that! philly looks like any dirty city full of pissed off people. lots of kids who all want to be so tough because they're from the hood, tons of crazy vegrant street people babbling incoherently, not to mention south philly/south jersey Sopranos worshipping toughguys and ANY over the top philly sports fan ie all of them. PA has it all, from inner city squalor to gun-toting rednecks and the amish! I love this state!!!
pittsburgh is mostly white trash jags' cheap livin. fanatical football fans. the warhol musuem! thats about it i love it.
I used to live in Pittsburgh in the early '90s and got most of my Bandai Godzilla and Gamera series toys from Eides as they came out. Does Eides still sell toys? Also gotta love the strip district and Primanti's.
