I'm going to Chicago in September for the Touch & Go 25th anniversary show. Anyone else going? Any stores I should check out in the area?

There used to be a great kaiju/general horror store NW of the downtown, called House of Monsters. Thsi was about 2 years ago, though, so I don't know it it's still there.

Rotofugi is not too far from there. I'm not into alot of the stuff there, but some of it is cool.

If you're out near Arlington Heights (not all that far from O'Hare) there is a store on Golf Rd. called JPGifts that has newer kaiju.

Yeah, House of Monsters is gone...

There is J1 toys in Arlington Heights on Golf Rd (used to be in Mitsuwa but now in a separate strip mall location...mostly Godzilla etc...

The Mitsuwa is really cool for us midwest folks. Cool JP bookstore, grocery store, and food court. Definitely worth a stop for lunch if you're out there. Here's that info:

    100 E. Algonquin Road,
    Arlington Hts., IL 60005

I was by J1 Toys ( was JP Gifts) a few days ago and on the window it said open for limited sales only, not sure what that meant. Perhaps pushing more items through their website now I dont know.

If you go to Reckless Records drop around the corner to Quimby's Bookstore at 1854 W. North Ave. A great comic store is Chicago Comics at 3244 N. Clark St.

I think J1 Toys is probably selling more on eBay than through the store at this point.
